The May issue (on sale on April 10) of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine will officially anounce that an Eureka Seven movie has been greenlit for production. Director Tomoki Kyoda (RahXephon movie), character designer Kenichi Yoshida (Overman King Gainer), and special effects director Yasushi Muraki (Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, The Skull Man) will reportedly return to animate with new mechanical designs, as well as a new form of storytelling that differs how the BONES anime studio produced the RahXephon movie. Although the creators are promising a new Eureka Seven "mythos," it will still feature the Renton and Eureka characters that starred in the original television version. Bandai Entertainment released both the original anime television series and the manga spinoff in North America. The Adult Swim television network ran the program in the United States.

I hope they try and aim for something for manga-influenced. The anime's philosophical themes would be a **** to squeeze into a movie.

I disagree with the making of this movie. Yes, the anime was good, and I never bothered to read the manga, but they wrote themselves into a corner on the last episode, and there was no room in the show to do something about mid-season. The original artists arent even going to be a part of it, so why make it?

It's a new storyline in an Eureka Seven Alternate Universe, like how the manga and anime were from each other. It's kind've like the movie adaptions of Air or Clannad, in a way.
And OH NO, THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS AREN'T IN IT? Puh-wah. Like the same artists for an anime ever do the movie version.

I love this show. I think the movie might be a success as long as it doesn't do like a crappy run off of the ending. because its nothing they could expand on. If its about the manga then they should try to simulate as if you have read the manga because to some people who haven't read it it would make no sense. or it just be a brand new story with brand new characters. I hope they make cameos of of gekkostate if its a new story.

Oh wow they're making a movie? I really enjoyed the series but I'm not so sure about the movie... especially if the original artists aren't going to be working on it. Eureka Seven was one of the few mecha series that I could tolerate and actually enjoy. I'm not sure if I should look forward to the movie or not but I'll watch it when it is released nonetheless. I just hope the plot is good...
