Fate/Stay Night
I'm not sure if there's a post in regards to this series but...anyway...I'll try and make this short and simple. Basically deals with a fight between people with magical powers called "Masters" who are able to summon spiritual fighters known as "Servants"...and there's different classes for these Servants, over the Holy Grail, which is said to grant the user any wish. For the rest of the information...I suggest checking this website:

This site is perfect if any wonder on stuff about this anime or others created by Type-Moon (they created this series as well as Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai).

We use to have quite a few Fate/stay Night threads, but most of them have already disappeared.
I am probably one of the bigger fans of Fate/stay Night around these boards. The storyline and plot is on the level of epic, from the secrets behind the Servants, to the Shirou-Archer relation. Saber is my most favourite anime character, she is a noble warrior but as the storyline progresses, she begins developing feelings, something she has never experienced before. I really enjoyed watching Saber's character development, and even more so when watching the visual novel.
The anime covers mainly the Fate route and the other 2 routes, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel are just as great as the Fate route. For those who wish to learn more about Fate/stay Night and the sequels and prequels, the visual novel is a must read/watch.

I didn't know that you guys originally used to have a thread for FSN. Rin, Saber and Archer were my most favorite characters, though I like Saber and Archer a lot more. Rin...she's too power-hungry most of the time.
Though my favorite episodes were 14, 20, and 24. Episode 14 because of Archer and his fight with Berserker, 20 because it was quite amusing with Rin's reaction to Shirou telling her that he was going out on a date with Saber and Ilya interrupting the explanation to Saber about the meaning of the term "date" and having to be karate-chopped by Rin to shut her up, and 24, specifically during the dream sequence. I absolutely loved the bgm's from the last episode. One is sometimes played before the start of the next episode and it was played during the fight with Saber and Gilgamesh. The other one is played during the dream sequence. When I first listened to it carefully...it had that sort of LOtR feel to it.

Re: Fate/Stay Night
Shirou and Saber are...... 'epic' combination as the main characters, Rin is so f*ckin cute and hawt, Archer and his Unlimited Blade Works is an ass wooper, Ilya is...... Cute, other than the fact that she is a 19 years old Homonculus and Gilgamesh is another 'epic' character and his Noble Phantasm is another ass wooper.

Re: Fate/Stay Night
I guess I'll be the first to say that I didn't like it. The Fate/Stay Night game was f***ing awesome, but I found the anime dull and boring. Maybe I expected too much from it.
It started out great, but after the fight between Archer and Berserker, I felt it going downhill. Some of the nerfs really annoyed me, how could a FULL-STRENGTH Archer lose to a chump like Berserker!?!? Unlimited Blade Works would have DESTROYED him. Why does Caster's Rule-breaker suck so much? What supposedly can sever contracts is now just an ability stopper(lolwut?). And then Dark Sakura, wow what a pansy, she killed several servants in the game but in the anime all she does is moan and moan. Also, they used Gilgamesh's lame golden armor, he looked much better on his black leather pants and suit, at least he looked like a badass villain then.
And then Shirou ugh. They mostly used the Fate Shirou who is dull and boring. They should have added more Shirou Unlimited Blade Works Shirou or Heaven's Feel. Because both of them were quite badass. I mean Shirou actually fought servants there, ON HIS OWN. And he actually had decent character development. Fate Shirou is a boring, predictable Mary Sue whose only point of interest is that he gave Saber mana through a boning. Of course, they had to take THAT out of the anime.
The only thing they did right was Saber, who had very good development. But IMO what makes Fate/Stay Night great is the whole cast, all with their own back stories and character development. Something that the anime failed to tap on.

Re: Fate/Stay Night
Well this is an anime adaptation of a VISUAL NOVEL. Especially the Fate/stay night visual novel which had a lot of detail that a simple 24 episode series could not include everything. The Fate scenario of the visual novel was the canon route anyways so they went with that while incorporating little bits from Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel. Also, even in the visual novel it played out the same way as episode 14, Archer couldn't defeat Berserker. As for Rule Breaker, when Saber gets stabbed by it, you ended up getting a BAD END, it wouldn't look very nice if Shirou was already dead before the end.
Just as how most anime do not live up to the expectation of their manga counterparts, visual novels are most of the time far greater than their anime adaptations. But Fate/stay night is still my favourite anime because it's what dragged me into this cult in the first place.

I'm not much of a Fate/**** Night fan, but I know that all of the different routes in both Tsukihime and F/SN exist in alternate universes, and nearly all of them work with the sequels.
(Except for Tsukihime, where it's stated Arcueid's good end is canon for Kagetsu Tohya, and none of the far-side routes would work with it, and Sacchin's good end is canon for Melty Blood and no other route works for that 'cause in the near-side routes you don't see Sacchin as a vampire and in the far-side routes you don't meet Arcueid or Nrvnqsr)
So, all the routes are canon.
Don't believe me? Nasu said it himself.

Then you might find UBW really intresting :3Rin is a fabulous character. I love her to death.
Rin tsundere-ness is. . Tsundere indeed -_-;;
My favourite character right now is Archer.
Actually no. I found that Kagetsu Tohya is supposed to be a sequel to a different route than Arcueid's good end. I mean, red-hair Akiha is actually quite. .Normal in Kagetsu -_-;I'm not much of a Fate/**** Night fan, but I know that all of the different routes in both Tsukihime and F/SN exist in alternate universes, and nearly all of them work with the sequels.

And Melty Blood should've been Kagetsu Tohya sequel IMO, Sacchin's route is quite debatable too. I mean, Shiki had meet Arcueid in Kagetsu, and is currently 'in love with her'.

Re: Fate/Stay Night
Shiki met Arcueid in Tsukihime. And we have no idea how Sacchin's route was supposed to be, it might've been a mix of the far and near side routes, so Shiki met Arcueid, fought Nrvnqsr, but still hung around with his "family" a lot. Supposedly, Shiki had to kill Sacchin in her good end, or maybe it was just another sucky harem ending like Ciel good, but still, the first Melty Blood game says Sacchin is dead.Kryuzei wrote:And Melty Blood should've been Kagetsu Tohya sequel IMO, Sacchin's route is quite debatable too. Plus, it's confirmed by Nasu himself, that it's set after Sacchin good.
And I haven't heard about Kagetsu being a sequel to any other route, the opening hints the most at Arcueid good too, anything that happens in the Dream World isn't real, so that doesn't affect anything.
And Melty Blood is technically a sequel to Kagetsu Tohya, but just set in a universe where the Sacchin good end happened, and not Arcueid good.

Re: Fate/Stay Night
It is official, but it is still debatable in a short of way. Because there's no such thing as Sacchin's good route in Tsukihime. It looks like that it exist only in imagination, or maybe a paradox. Sacchin's dead was on Far-side of the Moon right ? Maybe it is a continuation of some route where every event happened at the same time. Or maybe Nasu is just playing with us >_>;;; . Also, it seems that Shiki likes Arcueid. The fact that he wanted Arcueid to worried about him might proof this a little ^^;
Melty Blood. .I don't know about that >_>; It could just be a combination of Far-side and Near-side. . . With Shiki killed Roa, and killed Sacchin. Hn. .If only the manga follow this route, then it should be easier >_>;
Are we going kinda off-topic here? ^^;

Whenever I watch videos of Unlimited Blade Works and listen to Emiya remixes, my love for Fate/stay night is revived. The anime is great, but the visual novel is far greater.

Totally agree. I mean, the anime introduced F/SN in my life, yet the visual novel shows you things that you would never see in the anime series.Kouen wrote:Whenever I watch videos of Unlimited Blade Works and listen to Emiya remixes, my love for Fate/stay night is revived. Re: Fate/Stay Night
Yeah the visual novel has so much greatness packed in it. Like Shirou actually being likable. Shirou fighting Gilgamesh with his own Unlimited Blade Works is just awesome. Heck, Gilgamesh actually RAN way from Shirou after being overwhelmed. Even Saber couldn't do that.fepkk wrote:Totally agree.
