I just realized that I don't have the 8th lost weapon from volume 2. Can i get the lost weapon while playing volume 3 or do i have to get from volume 2 and start over volume 3?

I think Yata starts with it. Or are you talking about the 8th Phase Bayonet

Spiffy, it belongs to Yata, you don't have to get it in vol 2.
Actualy, you can't. n.n;; It plays out in volume 3 where you can get it.~

The 8th lost wepon (Ovan's lost wepon) is unobtainable, you can only get it via cheat.
