World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Post by Kiru »

http://worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/

"In the cold, harsh northlands...The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. With the armies of the undead and the necromantic power of the plague threatening to sweep across the land, only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King's will and end his reign of terror for all time.

Blizzard Entertainment's latest expansion to World of Warcraft – Wrath of the Lich King – adds a host of epic content to the existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore a vast new continent, and battle other high-level heroes to determine the fate of Azeroth. As you pit yourself against the dangers of the north.." (Continued on the site.)

So, yeah. New WoW Expansion, I'm really looking forward to this one, looks like a lot of nice loregasms for us fans of the Lore up in Northrend.

The trailer is up for download on the site, but since Blizzard has a slow downloaded, you may not want to wait, so here's a YouTube link

(If it isn't working, it's because i Just uploaded it, so give it a bit.)

Pff rather have had the Emerald Dream before this. Though fighting Arthas and Death Knight should be interesting though I heard of this news about a day ago. I am happy with siege weapons now that they finally got that to work, I'll have to make sure to get the CE for my other 2 in the collection. I am one of those lore nuts which makes me somewhat mad/worried about the Death Knight as a playable class, Alliance would never had accept them and Thrall hates dark practices as well so that means they will probably have to change they lore just like they had to do for Druids and other classes. :/

They had to do this cause after the Troll city in the Ghost Lands, there would be almost zero content. Nihilium the first guild forced them to do this with about 20 other guilds following suit clearing the Black Temple and Mt Hyal in just two weeks (http://www.worldofraids.com) (http://www.wowwiki.com). I'm just wondering why they released the expansion so early though? Are they scared that people are dropping off, which must be cause regardless of the 9 million "users" ppl are just getting over this pokemon fad? I think Blizzard should just try and concentrate on other games rather than beat the dead horse on WOW, ppl aren't going to come back if you release so many expansions at once.

they did this because they want WoW expansions to come out yearly is what they said, As well Blizz has Nihilium do all there dungeons to test it out to see how hard it is now.

Why do you say releasing so early? I don't see a release date.

Also, as a fellow lorewhoar I kind of agree, but listen. The alliance accepts Warlocks, as do the horde. (Orc warlocks make less sense. )
There would definatly be Death Knights wandering around, espcially with people forsaking the light. I can't wait to see the storyline reasons, But i'm willing to bet you can't get training for em in the main cities, and will need to go to a remote place.

Makes sense but I wonder what happens after the defeat of the Lich King? I can only image about 2 or more expansions before the game goes, or unless they make the game sorta like dota with all the hero classes running around which the game would probably become. However I find it particularly unusual for them to mention the expansion so early. It took them at least 2+ years for the first expansion to come out and now Wrath of the Lich King in almost under 6 months is very unusual they must be scared that within next 6 months almost all the major guilds would drain the content and life out the game or become fed up and quit with their restrictive characters.

Many were waiting for the hero classes which they promised around 4 years ago though, like me.

I don't really see how this is rushed, to be honest. It goes with what Blizzard said, and this is an announcement, the actual expansion is 6-12 months away, which is more then enough time.

Warhammer Is going to flop, I am 99% sure of it.

hmm the expansions they still have to work with is: The Emerald Dream and The Nagas with Queen Azshara. They are already working on the emerald dream, the some data is in your game files already. I want to pet Yesra :P though I dought she would be in there since they didn't put Nozdormu in his Caverns :/
I am likeing the new custom stuff for your characters like new dances and everything thats going to be really nice.

I wounder what you have to do to unlock Death Knight though.

Hmm...Either you haven't been following WOW timeline in actual real life dates or you haven't seen Blizzard truly at work, this is quite unusual as most of their releases have been pushed back for yonks. WOW came out 2 years later than it was suppose to, BC pushed back by at least a year not saying its rushed but the release is on time which in blizzard terms ' holy fooking oath'. Take for example SC2 now how many years has it been since the original?

That is a life since they got hired by Blizzard supposable , Better then working at a job that you don't like and then getting old and ready to die. I rather don't have a problem with them since they aren't doing anything to me or anyone else, I wish I could afford to stay at home and be a net recluse.

This kind of pissed me off, because if you knew even a little about Nihilium, you'd know the amazing thing is that most of them DO balance social lives, relationships and all of that, PLUS there payed. Livin' the dream.

You should have known better than to do something as incredibly stupid as that.
