How about some contrasting of the two before passing your statement off as fact?S1lentOp wrote:They're both not human, but no... they're not.marthwmaster wrote:What about the new Devil May Cry anime? Vampires and demons are like two sides of the same coin.
Re: Vampires in Anime
Vampires today are typically based on western vampire folklore, therefore I'll compare them with western demon folklore. Of course, in these comparisons I am speaking generally since some legends vary on this.marthwmaster wrote:How about some contrasting of the two before passing your statement off as fact?S1lentOp wrote:They're both not human, but no... they're not.marthwmaster wrote:What about the new Devil May Cry anime? I can go on if you'd like. There's much, much more if I start in with the nuances of the smaller legends and include Eastern folklore as well. What I've said is just common folklore that's recognized today. There are very few vampire legends where a vampire is anything similar to a demon, and I'm talking about the east African tribal legends that no one really knows much about. A common mistake people make, though, is assuming that if a demon drinks blood that it automatically makes it a vampire. Having vampiric qualities doesn't make something a vampire for the same reason that a human eating meat doesn't make it a wolf or a bear or a tiger. Here's a quick tidbit: Just because two things are dark and scary and inhuman, it doesn't mean they're both the same thing.
