Stay away from Star Ocean? Why? Because it's a great RPG with a love it or hate it plot twist? One of the best RPGs I've played in recent memories.

Too late. I've already played Star Ocean Till The End of Time. Probably one of the best RPG's I've ever played. Specially since its got multiple endings.

Have to agree with there. The plot twist cought me off guard and even made my brother wonder if we were programs.

The old Star Ocean games had for more endings but I guess I'd still stick to playing Till the End of Time. It makes wonder what the next one is going to be about...

I heard that it was confirmed that 3 was it. BTW: chaos was actually Yeshua(sp) and KOS-MOS spirit was someone close to him, right? I always felt they had a romantic connection somehow. Maybe from the scene in the first one, where he sees her sleeping and says  "She's beautiful....Even in sleep." or something. I don't know. I haven't beat 3 yet, but I saw the end on the internet, so I'm kinda confused. Lol.

Well,  chaos regains his power, and Nephilim receives KOS-MOS's Anima, and she and chaos gather the Gnosis, AKA the collective unconscious of humanity, and migrate it to Earth, thus leading all of humanity there eventually and restoring the planet and thus the human race.

Personally, I wouldn't want them to try and tie this into Xenogears. Xenosaga is fine the way it is, as a retelling of the original Xenogears tale. If we ever do get another one, I would want it to take place 1,000 years into the future. KOS-MOS lands on Earth, we have actual space travel restored in a brand new system, and awesome new mechs to play around in. One can dream.

Actually,  Chaos (Yeshua) is not Jesus. Jesus is an entirely different person (And shown in picture form in the Xenosaga 3 Perfect Guide as Lost Jerusalems Messiah). Chaos (Yeshua), and KOS-MOS (Mary Magdelene) performed Jesus' miracles for him, as he was just a normal person (They respected his ideals, if I remember right). Mary likely also was in a relationship with Jesus, though I'd have to re-read the page entirely to confirm that.

Personally, I would love to see a continuation. Xenosaga 1+2 has already appeared on DS. I'd say they could easily fit Xenosaga 3 on a DS cartridge if they used pre-rendered areas, and pre-rendered sprites (or possibly low-poly 3D models). If they could fit Xenosaga 1+2 onto a 64MB cartridge, fitting Xenosaga 3 alone onto a 128MB cartridge would definitely give a great experience.

The only reasoning behind it is that Mary has a place in the real-world timeline, while a second Yeshua doesn't (to my knowledge). I had a link to a site with translations from the guide, but I'd need to find it again for any interested.

Off Topic: Is it me or do you guys have the same problem of when you click on the Show Spoilers thing it doesn't show what it hides? Seems like half the time it works and half the time it doesn't. When it doesn't I have to quote that message into a reply page to read it.

On Topic:  I figured the Chaos was one of Jesus's opposils along with Marry. Thats what I thought about Wilhelm and Abel too. I fugured they had been blessed with imortality, except that I think Marry gave it up, which is why they brought her back as KOS-MOS.

So they've done 1 and 2 on the DS. Are there any plans to bring them to the US. Or will they be forever trapped in Japan?

On topic: I recall seeing on the offical website that 3 was the last one, besides the DS versions. I'm not sure when, but I do remember that. I hope it's wrong, though, because even though there's not all the characters, they could continue more with the remaining ones.

 Not sure if the DS versions will ever come to English territories, but with Nintendo having bought 80% of Monolith, it's a possibility. The DS versions merely changed story events around, such as having to fight Richard and Herman in human form aboard the Elsa, or the destruction of KOS-MOS v1 at the beginning of Episode 2's story to explain the upgrade to v2, etc.

Also,

 Chaos and Abel are obvious. Chaos is Anima, and also the universes failsafe, while Abel is the form U-DO took to watch over humans, if I remember right (Might be getting a little confused with Abels Ark, which is supposed to watch over the lower plane). Mary, not too sure there. I'd say she was immortal, myself. Her death wasn't supposed to happen; she died when sealing Chaos' Anima, or something of the like.

Besides what the database says about it, the overall theme of Order and Chaos that runs throughout the series supports the theory that Mary was originally meant to be immortal. That is, when T-Elos fights KOS-MOS in the japanese version and states "I am KOS-MOS!", the "KOS-MOS" is furigana, with the Kanji beneath it reading "Order". Furthermore, "kosmos" is "order" in greek (at lest one of the meanings).

Wilhelm is definately the biggest enigma. Not only is he immortal, but he has a number of abilities, along with a great knowledge. We know that he modified the Zarathustra for the Eternal Reccurance, and got Mary's cooperation with it to prevent Chaos from activating his failsafe, and at the same time prevent the universe from ending. Naturally, he knew Yeshua and Mary, but other than that I'm not sure about his specific relation. The guide likely mentions a few things on him, somewhere or another though.

There's definitely quite a bit that could be explained in a sequel.

EDIT: I managed to find the forums with a (incomplete) perfect guide translation. If I can post it here for perusal, I will, but for now, here's a small excerpt explaining Chaos, Mary, and Wilhelm:

(For those confused by the "domains", there's a "lower domain" which holds the imaginary number domain (where the collective unconscious, testaments, and Gnosis exist: imaginary space) and the real number domain (where the story takes place; where humans exist and stuff), as well as an "upper domain" (regarded as the "universe") which contains U-DO, several existences other than U-DO (what they are is never mentioned), and several lower domains including the one in which the story takes place.)
