Hmm you might want to try Disgaea 2. I've never played the game but from what I've read:
-Even at a high level, the game can still be challenging
-Has a good amount of humor
-Plenty of things to do after you beat the game
-Last you quite a while (a member said its lasted him over 100 hours)
-Has more prinnies than you could ever imagine...

sorry, I just had to do that.
if your looking for a long game, i've heard that disgaea 2, final fantasy 12, and dragon quest 8 are all long games. i've never played any of these before but from what i hear they should last a while.
Re: long game
If you have the patience, and an immunity to carpel tunnel syndrome and frustration, play DMC3, and play every mode. It took me 2 weeks to get to DMD, and 2 more to beat DMD without Super Dante.

That's pretty much true. Disgaea 2 is a very long game. What the...??? wrote:DOOD!Duo602 wrote:Hmm you might want to try Disgaea 2. I've never played the game but from what I've read:

Final Fantasy 12 is only a long game if you want to do all those sidequests.
Dragon Quest 8 is also a game where it's over 60 hours of gameplay. 70+ hours if you want the "other" ending.

I think Radiata Stories is another long game, up to 70 hours if you want to do both sides. o-o I can't remember.
Soul Calibur 3, with the war game. 8D At least, I think it was long. >.> Or maybe I just played over it twice.

Try doing the bounty hunter sidequest. It has the potential to make you cry...Lantis wrote:Final Fantasy 12 is only a long game if you want to do all those sidequests.
Soul Calibur 3 Is only long if you do the Chronicles of the Sword mode, pass the game with everyone, complete all those other bonus modes, and try to get all clothes (I recently found out I can make Kos-Mos out of a couple).
Another game I might recommend would be Tales of the Abyss. The main story takes about 50 hours to complete and then there are several sidequests that practically force to level up in order to survive (such as the replica professor Nebilim sidequest). There are also several dungeons, costumes, and moves that are only able to be obtained after you beat the game the first time. All together, the total play time could be around 100+ hours.

I did the same. Except with Virgil.GoZero wrote:If you have the patience, and an immunity to carpel tunnel syndrome and frustration, play DMC3, and play every mode. It took me 2 weeks to get to DMD, and 2 more to beat DMD without Super Dante.
Try any Ratchet and Clank games.

In FF12, that's what I did, and that's what made it a long game. >.>Duo602 wrote:Try doing the bounty hunter sidequest. It has the potential to make you cry...Lantis wrote:Final Fantasy 12 is only a long game if you want to do all those sidequests.

Yeah, cuz apparently KOS-MOS is like a cameo appearance in SC3.
Re: long game
A good game to get that wont cost you too much would be Okami. Its crazy long and has good replay value. Game looks amazing too and its really fun. Its up to par with Zelda I think. But I guess its up to you, you should check it out if you get the chance

AMEN, Dood.Disgaea 2 - 33 hours for the main story. To partake in the side quests, you're looking at an easy 70 (very likely more). If you want Chaos Soldier classes and certain, lesser bosses, you need to play through the main game again. You could also attempt to create a perfect character, or even a perfect party of 10. Which could easily take you 500-600 hours, based solely on your luck and determination. And, before someone asks, I'm not exaggerating. A perfect character consists of a level 9,999 character with at least 186,000 stored levels -- essentially, a level 195,999 character. Add to this perfect equipment, which takes 10-15 hours each to obtain (and each character gets four pieces of equipment), and then eight level 19,998 specialists for each equipment's eight slots (40 level 19,998 specialists). ... Suffice it to say, you could lose months of your life to this game. Or any Nippon Ichi SRPG for that matter. Mind you that you don't need to be that extreme to kill the strongest enemy in the game, however you do need about 10,000,000 ATK, DEF and HIT on one character to take out Uber Prinny Baal with 20 Stronger Enemy bills passed, and after killing a Tyrant Pirate and Uber Prinny Baal's four assistants (activating the "Majin" effect).
And ferget months, years can pass with this game.
Hell, you HAVE to be uber to go on doing stuff after finishing the main story.
Not to mention getting Laharl means a minimum of 40+ hours to spend.
Ultimate weapons can only be found in the extra world which requires back-breaking hours and luck to get the 16 maps from randomly appearing
Pirates who drop them on defeat.
Then the ULTIMATE enemy, Prinny Baal (ultra powered) will randomly appear even after you've beaten him those first three times in the new Item World (99 levels of floors INSIDE EACH AND EVERY ITEM IN THE GAME).
my advice:
BUY IT NOW
...no really, go.....or super monkeys will attack....

I've done it too with Vergil except I cheated and used Super Vergil for VMD. Mostly cause I suck using him.LegendaryDarkKnight wrote:I did the same. That 50 plus hours of going three places in FFXII was story? It took about 10 hours for the story to progress, and it was just:Go somewhere....talk....tell you to go here...10 hours later...talk...you need to go here now...10 more hours...intermission....repeat...fight the Undying....The last part was annoying....he wouldnt die....
And if you wanna waste.....4-6 months,a year if your slow.Play Star Ocean:Til the end of Time. Its awesome, really time consuming, and its a challenge if you want to get all the battle trophies....
Re: long game
Really, I have to disagree, if you can have good timing on weapon switching, using Spiral Sword, and JCing, he can be a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, if you do t alot it gets old and you get early signs of CTS.haseoxth wrote:Vergil really doesnt have good combos,so alot suck with him.I used Super Vergil too....
