Code Geass

Post by penpen4 »

I have not watched it yet but a friend turned me onto it and I am going to watch it as soon as I finish with another show. Are there any fans of this so I can know if it is worth spending 23 episodes on? Thanks!

Definitely. It'll feel really generic at first, but it gets better one you get into it.

Too bad the last two episodes aren't out yet. The cliffhanger will leave you pissed off and wanting to punch someone.

Is it as bad as the Twin Peaks' First season's cliffhanger? As long as it is not that bad I can handel it.

Who needs subs. I just started last night and have watched three episodes so far. It seems... interesting. Started off quicker than I would have imagined, usually they do not throw in the best friend conflict thing until like the middle.

24 and 25 won't be aired for a bit. They're being aired at some festival or something on July 21 and 22.

Just a reminder as stated by Kouen, please stay on topic, the focus of this thread is about Code Geass the series and if it's an interesting series to watch. NOT where and how to obtain the fansubs. Please stay on topic otherwise offtopic replies will be removed on sight or edited and the user officially warned if discussing how to obtain fansubs and verbally warned twice.

The thread has been unlocked, so lets talk about the series. I've heard good things, so is it worth watching? What exactly is it about?

I just started it but so far I am really really enjoying it. It is about an alternate future where Britian has taken control of most of the world including Japan which is now reffered to as sector 11. The British burtually murder anyone who stands in their way under the belief that the strongest should be the only to survive. We are soon introduced to our main character a young student who is actually an exPrince. He mother was brutally murdered as a child and he and his sister were shunned aside by the vicious king who gave them to japan right before invading it. During one battle with some terrorists fighting against the British our main character is thrown into the battle to find a mysterious girl who has special powers. A few shocking events occur that I do not want to spoil and he ends up with the girls amazing power, he is now able to control the mind of humans to make them do whatever he wants. He swears to destory the British empire and revenge his mother and sister. Throw in some giant mech battles and quirky characters and you have a great show! It has a very serious story line which is very strange for CLAMP, and I went into it expecting it to be horrible but I am really enjoying it. I am not much of an anime fan but I highly suggest this one to anyone who enjoys a good story!

wikipedia wrote:On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed Area 11, and the Japanese people are renamed "Elevens" and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.

After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch, vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.
It's pretty sweet. It's just like Gundam just shorter and with out space combat. It's made by sunrise.

Not really, if anything it would be Death Note with robots.
