Seriously though,it may be a let down from alot of angles,but it does make you a one of a kind member in a way.
Well....that and the fact that your the only funtioning Adept Rouge....which is cool.

I really do think that I am the only one who likes Matsu. True he uses a lot of SP but slap a Soul item on him weapon to get some back and let his go.

I like him simply because of the dynamic presented between him and Haseo. The whole start as rivals but gain mutual respect thing is always cool to me. Also he is the only other Adept Rogue on the team...even ih he doesn't use his Edge Punisher anymore.

I like Matsu too. In fact, right under Kuhn and Zelkova, he's my favorite character.

People say "He's an Adept Rogue--why can't he use the Edge Punisher class?!" but I don't understand why they even ask this. It tells us right in volume one that he's not interested in using Edge Punisher because he relates it to his past as a PK, something he's trying to leave behind him. His arena fight with Haseo was a one-time thing, where he felt it was necessary to use the Edge Punisher class because he needed something stronger in battle.

The fact that he gives you his best broadsword should be an indicator that he doesn't plan on going back to that class anytime soon... Adept Rogue or not, he wants to be acknowledged as a Steam Gunner.

Also. Matsu is hot. He's one of the few characters whose English voice I happen to adore.

Realistically, he's probably the character I find most appealing--Kuhn only wins out because of his character depth, how deeply he cares for others and how he's always in a good mood, and Zelkova only pulls in second because of how adorable and mysterious he is.

Yea...they obviously spent a lot of time on Khun's character development. I mean...he co-founded Kestrel w/ Gabi, left, founded Canard, then left to pursue AIDA w/ Raven. He is one of those dedicated to "The World". He is kinda like the "New Balmung" in a sense.

No one could figure out how to get the AI to be a proper Multi Weapon user! I'm speaking of the programmers of .hack//G.U., the PS2 video game, not 『The World』
Actually, more like they could do it, they just weren't happy with it. I say this because I can recall not even one mid-battle switch by an AI in the games. It was probably just something they couldn't get to work as well as they would like.
I'm probably wrong though... Just thought I'd put it out there.

actually thats probably right and to mask that reason they made the whole matsu excuse where matsu wont use his brandish since he used it as a pk =)

Easy fix...he can equip Broadswords and Steam Guns. Whichever he is equipped with is his main weapon. If you want a different one just manually equip him with one.

That'd be a pain though. You were celebrating when you moved from doing that yourself to Weapon Change after unlocking Flicker form. I'm sure they could do it if they really wanted to. All you would need to do is program Matsu in a similar way that Haseo is. Haseo (3rd form and beyond) has acess to all of his Arts and not just ones related to his weapon. If Matsu could do the same thing, then he could easily choose a skill with a different weapon assigned and have the class automatically change.

None of this matters though for two reasons:
1)He can't use his broadsword anyway
2)He only has 2 Jobs in his character. You need 3 for weapon change.

You could just change it manually if that was the case. They can program him to use both weapons with the AI just not to change them.

I think it was more along the lines of having two broadswords would be too cheap. Plus you could use two of the doppel weapons at once which would also be cheap.

By the time you get Matsu, you can have to Doppel Scythe. NOTHING (besides Divine Awakening) is as cheap as the Doppel Scythe.

Give Alkaid the dopple twin blade
Give Haseo the dopple Broad Sword & Scythe
2 dopple weapons at once, happy? Give Zelkova the Scythe in volume 3 and a full dopple party...

Anyways I agree with the AI concept. IMO though, they should just make it so Mastu's strat choices differ, have the choices Broad Sword Focus, Steam Gun Focus and Combo avalible as Sub commands that are presented to you when you chose one of the core options(Free Will, Rage, Tenicity and Life).
