No, it implies Sora was the first Epitaph User. It doesn't matter who's in control, whether it's the human or the Epitaph, so long as a human mind and the mind of an Avatar/Phase are joined together.

the big question: did sora have his mind in the game, or did he just fall in coma?

EDIT: then again... morgana said that :"...,worse than death" part, so i think she ment to harm other IRL??

Being in a coma is generally thought of as "being worse than death",and is sometimes refered to as "living death".
