Well... maybe you should go to an area one level above Elk's level, let him fight by himself, but also help when nesscarary. That's what I did!

Buy some items that will temporarily increase a party members defense and use it on Elk. That will help also make sure to keep him remotely away from monster when an ambush happens. They are sometimes really hard depending on the skills the monsters have.

If you are REALLY in in a higher level than him,go yo an area that you could kill monsters in in a few hits, but that he ould have trouble with, then have him hit a couple times, then you just kill the enemys.he gets more exp this way,as long as he's allive and is hitting.

Bring lots of Moon scrolls and Hangman scrolls (those are the paraylze right?) and stop all enemies, then you and one other offensive teammate cream them while they cant move. 8) Works pretty well.

My advice is to go to a level that is a level or two below kite and bring a strong character for the third member and set elk to healing so he doesn't get hurt as often and he gains a lot of exp without actually fighting

Wander wrote:Powerlevel 'im. Run into an area 20 levels too high and keep him backed up as you slaughter the enemies. As far as I can tell, he doesn't even have to fight at all to get the EXP. He just has to be alive. So you can get to a huge hard hitting enemy and if he dies, don't rez him until the last moment. He'll get all the EXP and have done none of the work.

Leveling in .hack is so fantastically easy. :D
unfortialy, he is HAAAAAAARD to keep alive.

1. he dosen't heal himself
2. he is WEEEEEEEAK
3. can't take cover

I always just have him stand off to the side and kill things while he heals my group. That works well for me.
