Saddest anime death
spiolers maybe....
I don't know if its been done, if thats the case then i'm sorry.
So what was the saddest death in an anime you watched?
why?
mine was maes from fma.
the thing that got me was his daughter asking where her papa went.

Ah that was sad. I remember suddenly freezing when I saw him got shot...
And the ending credits were all black too.
That's probably the saddest anime death for me.
Misuzu from Air wasn't that sad surprisingly... maybe because I wasn't paying too much attention... and that I got confused.

Oh my god, I remember that when I use to watch FMA... He was awesome, and he had to go... It didn't make me cry, but it did sadden me...
The saddest one I've seen was Vegeta's death on Dragon Ball Z... It was when they were on the planet that Piccolo comes from, and we saw it when it was new to Cartoon Network. I remember my mom and sister crying, and I think I did too...... And, well there was Krillin's death, but that wasn't as emotional as Vegeta's last words. Plus, Krillin's death made Goku turn Super Saiyan and that was just bad-ass. I remember getting goosebumps watching that episode.
Damn I miss that show...
Oh, and there was one death in Rurouni Kenshin I just couldn't believe... If you haven't read past Volume 23, do not highlight: The death of Kaoru Kamiya I just couldn't believe it, and it was very sad... But, I thought it was an excellent part in the story, even though Nobuhiro Watsuki said many stopped reading after that... I've read up to Vol 25, so I know how that turns out, though... The volumes only go up to 28, so I'm almost done.

Id have to say one of the saddest deaths ive seen was what happened to Grim in Cowboy Bebop. Not only did Vicious betray and turn him in, but then the medicine they gave him screwed up his hormones in his body. Making him one of those, you know.
Later he confronts Vicious on the matter but gets fatally wounded. Just one of those "damn" moments.

I agree with everything in this statement, except the person to whom I believe you are referring: Maes Hughes.Red Frost wrote:Oh my god, I remember that when I use to watch FMA... He was awesome, and he had to go... It didn't make me cry, but it did sadden me...
People who know me well will have already known EXACTLY how I would respond to this thread, but for those who don't, I believe Lujon (the character in my avatar) easily trumps Hughes for the most tragic death in that series.

That made me cry cause Mariko's so cute. So many parts in Elfen Lied made me cry. The worse death in Elfen Lied to me is LUCY'S PUPPY. T~T why did he have to die?!!?hawthorneluke wrote:elfen lied

My opinion is Suigintou's in the first season of Rozen Maiden at episode 12.
I also think that that part of The End of Evangelion was depression as Asuka was fighting the 9 mass production Evas. Unit 02 looks so helpless and also persistant.
Another would be Kenshin's wife in Samurai X (I think that was it).

Yeah, I was referring to Maes Hughes... I actually think I stopped watching after that... Not because he died, I merely missed episodes and got caught up in other things. And I got a lil bored. It wasn't boring, but I just got bored of it... that doesn't make sense... I was thinking of watching again, but I never caught the right episodes in time.marthwmaster wrote:I agree with everything in this statement, except the person to whom I believe you are referring: Maes Hughes.Red Frost wrote:Oh my god, I remember that when I use to watch FMA... Oh, another death scene was probably Zabuza's and Haku's. I found it really sad when Zabuza started to cry for Haku... But I like the manga better, the show is editted a lot, right? I think the term "butchered" came up.

I thought it was .......crap!!! I can't remember at the moment!!!
the main charcter's death at the very end....it was just so emotional.
another emotional part of the series was when Ed left with the dog.
I freaking cried at the power of that scene at the end whereit just shows ed's abandoned tent. though, I still can't say a readon why I cried...

I was half cheering for that. I mean an evil little prick and his daughter who's 10000000 time's more evil blowing themselve's up-woohoo.hawthorneluke wrote:elfen lied

But the puppy in that serie's was one of the scariest and emotionally 'WTF' sad moment's in anime history. I may be evil, but it was a puppy for crying out loud.
The saddest death in my opinion would probably be The tachikoma's in Ghost in the shell stand alone complex. Both serie's had it(in different aspect's but it was still a copy from the other) but the second one was just jawdropping, eye bulging and left me screming 'The tachikoma's!'
Because he's not dead maybe?silabus wrote:Well it's rare that nobody say bout when Alphonse Elric of Fullmetal alcjhemist... that was sad

Oh thank god... I liked Alphonse Elric... It was funny when he tried to save that kitty-cat.SnowManZero wrote:Because he's not dead maybe?silabus wrote:Well it's rare that nobody say bout when Alphonse Elric of Fullmetal alcjhemist... that was sad
Oh yeah, Wolfwood's death was sad... He was pretty cool. And the Vegeta death WAS sad! He's infamous as an ass-hole, and he started to cry, telling Goku how Freiza killed his dad!
Yeah, the only death I can think of right now is from a game, so that would be offtopic... HARRY MASON!!! (Silent Hill 3) OH, and the song "To You, My Dearest" just came up on my Ipod! Someone wants me to cry!!!

well...i know these were already mentioned,but...ill say them again.
Maes Hughes-He was the awesomest desk job guy EVA!!!!You shouldnt have died....I shed tears every time i watch it...
Mariko and Kuruma(Elfen Lied)-It was a touching re union followed by sadness, and it didnt make things better when there was a flashes of what might of happened of they lived a normal life.
Maharo(Maharomantic)-Just when her and Suguru confessed there feelings, the Saints had to attack and she had to save the world by daying. And it didnt make things better seeing a piece of her Ear and Hair on the beach...
Rosette(Chrono Crusade Manga)-It wasnt sad,but more along the line of touching.I mean,Chrono came at the right time,in her final moments when she didnt wanna die alone.
Rosette and Chrono(ANime)-It was sad and touching how the were foudn together...laying with smiles on there faces and holding each others hand.
Simca(air Gear)well she didnt die,but her whole life which was AT was taken away from her when Om put her in a wheel chair...
Onizuka(GTO)Youd never expect this man to die...it was sad,how everyone was crying and stuff...but hes GTO,and GTO comes back to life, like Goku
and last but not least-Koshiro(Basilisk)yea...it was messed up on Akeginu posioned him while he thought that it was Kagiru...

that bit with the tachikoma was touching, but i swear half the people that watch elfen lied just seem to remember it for the gore and nudity O_o
those bits are extremely overshadowed by the actual story and bits like that death. so i don't know how you could so easily of reacted like you did o_O lol

well, there's a reason why the violence and nudity overshadow's the storyline and the touching bit's
THERE'S ALOT MORE OF IT!
Aside from that, people see elfien lied and even hardcore anime fan's, such as myself weren't expecting anything too bad, violent or horrible. What we got was a decapitated arm to beguin the whole serie's. Need I say more.
I reacted the way i did for a few reason's:
1-I'm evil and thus found the death rate of human's and diclonus' to be hysterical.
2-we knew lucy was plain badass with 4 arm's at a 2 meter radius, nana was innocent but at the same time not with 2 arm's and a bit further radius but mariko was just straight up screwed up twisted evil with 26 at an 11 meter radius. I was actually cheering for the goodguy's then.
3-2 twisted life's had ended and were going to live with there mother up in heaven-i was cheering for them.
4-I was just plain happy to see them both die for some reason.
