Forest of pain...help??? (spoilers?)

i just finished part 3....but back when 1 and 2 were out...i never fought the abyss quest boss in the japanese ver....would i be able to fight him in part 2 or 3? and does answering the question from the boards effect this event...or...not doing all the quest to do this XD

when you transfer to part 2 or to part 3...you cant do the previous quest in the old game...sucks...
