For a minute there, I forgot Sakaki is only ten. Damn...

I thought that he might have been a good guy and went to the suicide website to help whoever he could, or that he might have been suicidal himself and went there for advice, then connected with Atoli. I keep forgetting...he's just a kid. That's kind of creepy to imagine a ten-year-old frequenting a suicide site... I mean, when I was ten, I barely even realized that there were people who considered suicide.

I don't know. Dot Hack makes their kids way too mature.

That's kinda harsh, some people can be quite intellectual at a young age. Hell, It seems like some high-schoolers revert back to kindergardeners.

And since Vol. 1, he was already looking for AIDA and started to think of him as a way to make everyone follow Moon Tree, and yes, since that time he was already thinking on 'evil' plots (they were good for him, though, since it involved no PKing and everyone enjoying the game).

Maybe Sakaki's smart for his age, but i wouldn't call him 'mature'. If he was, he would've avoided AIDA (Haseo's words: "How can you accept something you don't know anything about!?")

Yeah, that's true. I guess I didn't really mean "mature" in the sense that his mind work's like a rational adult's--I meant more like, he meddles in/knows about things that (I personally believe) most kids his age don't even think about. I guess I should've said...ambitious, and too well-informed for his own good. xDD

I really wish he wasn't only ten years old...T.T

I don't know, some people will do/use anything to succeed. If anything, that's probably a more childish approach to goal reaching, and many older people will do the same thing.

Agreed. But maybe that's how .Hack's world society is by that time, with even little kids knowing about stuff we didn't know by that age. Also, children at Japan right now are more well informed about many things already...

Exactly; he didn't know it was wrong and all, and he did it because it would bring some good for him and his guild. But being the little kid he was, he got too dragged on AIDA's power...and you see the results.

I don't know, some people will do/use anything to succeed. If anything, that's probably a more childish approach to goal reaching, and many older people will do the same thing.

Older people can be immature too...

Well...

I started using the internet at around Sakaki's age, being nine at the time, and successfully posed as a sixteen year old, so it's not that hard to bluff your way around and act like you're older than you really are. It is also in a child's nature to be inquisitive and they will absorb whatever information is available to them.

In that sense, what I am now is probably largely based on the experiences I gained over the internet and Sakaki could very easily be the same. However, I would say that, like Sakaki, I was also rather naive as to how my actions could affect other people.

So Sakaki's not that unusual, think of him as the .hack incarnation of a young Umbra. He's certainly the first ultra-smart ten year-old I identify with.

anyway,sakaki isn't so strange..reminds me of that uber hacked on runescape,who created like 13 maxed out characters,but turns out he was just 8.
That was only for xexample perposes,I'm not really supposed to tell anyone that....but who cares,I don't work for the "Fuzz" anymore....

If you havn't noticed by the Info at the top I don't like men to much.

Anyhow

I blame his parents don't they pay attention to what he's doing I mean he's ten my parents stoped careing about what I do at 14. '__'

My parents didn't care about me when i first used internet...and i was 10 >.>

Now i'm suddenly interested in knowing about Sakaki in real life; how he really is, how is his family, and what does he has in mind usually.

That's kinda harsh, some people can be quite intellectual at a young age. Hell, It seems like some high-schoolers revert back to kindergardeners.

Well, you see how Osamu's room is like, with all the screens and electronic stuff. Maybe Sakaki's is similar to that, at least in the sense that it's a room all for himself and he does whatever he wants, without anyone to stop him or even wonder what is he doing.

Well children in .hack are scary. They create stuff like the Deadly Flash Virus and Pluto's Kiss. It seems the generation of Harlad has spurned alot of child geniuses. And not the good kind.

Because he seemed to have generally happy childhood for the most part. The World and everything was just a hobby. However since Sakaki wants to remake the world with Moontree's ideals i'm assuming he has troubles. That doesn't seem like something you do for fun.

So, by your logic, Ovan being able to put Epitaph Users into comas makes him a different person? I don't think so. If you had actually read the entire manga, he acts EXACTLY like he does in the games, right up to the end.

No, you're missing my point. I was saying that changing personalities is done just as commonly in AU's as plot differences, and due to the whole Epitaph/Chosen One deal, it can even be considered the same thing. For one thing, Endrance isn't totally gaga over Haseo, which is like 70% of his characterization.

No, I have evidence to back my claims up. For example, the similar emotional state. Hell, the profile I posted was the one from the fan book, with added information regarding Vol.2+3, and it states that she cuts.
