im sure that the creature that we saw multiple times in the trailer was Cubia. How did he get there and why. since he is the mirror of the DD how is Haseo gonna kill Cubia in a different fasion than kite.

This is a warning, highly spoilerific.

It was Cubia, he is the Key of the Variant to Ovan. Haseo accidentally made Cubia stronger by attempting to Data Drain him, therefore he enters Cubia, to take out teh Core, and with the help of "Ovan", he managed to sum up enough strength to take out Cubia.

Can we get a defintion of the Key to Variant especially in relation to Key of the Twilight.

Well I'm not too hot on what the Key to the Variant, is, it's related to the .hack GU Vol 2's preview of Volume 3, it said Ovan had the Key ot the Variant in one arm, and Key to the Twilight in the other Arm. Though the meaning of Variant itself goes for things like "Different, Alter, Change." Most of the time the IMOQ series, refered to Twilight as the Daybreak ect, although Twilight has other meanings like Full Development or success.

So basically, Ovan has the Key of the Twilight, and Key of the Variant. Aura would be Ovan's Key of the Twilight, as she fully developed into the Ultimate A.I, and Cubia became the Key of the Variant, basically in a way an Alter of the Ultimate A.I I guess can be a way to put it. So Ovan basically held the Anti-Existent, to the Existent he also had.

Sorry I sorta confused myself explaining that.

So it seems that Cubia was not the anti-existence of the epitaph users, but the anti-existance of Aura? Also, what happened when Ovan was all cracked and was floating there with Aina and there was that huge flash of light? How did Ovan have Aura in him?

not quite if you remember Cubia is the anti-exsistance of the key of the twilight and at oen tiem it was the braclet then it later switched to aura. so it makes perfect sense that he is auras antiexistance..onyl now I cant figure out why hes attackign haseo I mean is he still atatckign data misformitys and if yrou in skeith form shouldent he not attack you?

I thought Cubia only appeared cause Kite had a illegal item and was near aura. and since aura was part of the game it appeared there to protect her from the illegal bracelet right?

Cubia was an anti-existence. In the old games, as long as the bracelet existed, Cubia existed to oppose it. It wasn't because Kite had an illegal item, but that Kite, himself, made Cubia using the bracelet.

as far as I have seen Aura was in one of Ovan´s arm, but it escaped once he blew, thus showing it´s anti existence that was Cubia, everything that happened after I didn´t understand, but it seens that Cubia was the anti-existence of Aura all along, in IMOQ, in the scene where Cubia is finally destroyed, it wasn´t the destruction of the bracelet that destroyed Cubia, but the ubber Data Drain that came after, which seens to have deleted Cubia completely, but somehow it returned thus making Aura disappear two years after the incident, after that I have no clue what must have happened, but that´s only my theory

Yup that basically sums it all up. It makes me sadly fear what might happen if they make a third installment to the series now, I mean. We now know what the Key of the Twilight is, we now know what the real Anti-Existence is, would that leave Morganna? It really just makes me wonder what they can do with the next installment that can wow us as much as G.U did. Since G.U felt more like a conclusion to the .hack series period.

This supports even more my theory, if the opposite of the Key of Twilight(Aura) is the Key of Variant(it´s anti-existence, Cubia) so that means that they are the the opposite sides of the same coin. Interesting... Cubia is the anti-existence of Aura...

In this case yes, since Aura isn't part of the System during GU. Though it's probably more something to the likes of the Key of the Twilight being Aura and what's trying to give birth to her (Avatars, Bracelet, etc) and the Key of the Variant is that which opposes Aura's existence and her development (Cubia opposed the Bracelet because it was supporting Aura, but it's not Aura's Anti-Existence in of itself.)
