OK y'all..I'veo nly seen SIGN and played the first two games.

Question:

Tsukasa's guardian...what exactly is it? And its power that  knocks out ginkan is that  data drain? B/c  that bracelet in the middle..I think thats the same bracelet Kite recieves in the game.

But then, still...what exactly is it?

And while I'm at it...that woman  who talks to him..thats Morganna, right? And she...kinda rules The World, right?

I do not believe that The Guardian has the power to  data drain, but its attacks are still extremely powerful. Basically The Guardian is just an extremely strong monster that seems to have infinite hit points, but it can be defeated without using data drain on it. I'm fairly certain that the ring in the middle of The Guardian is not the same as Kite's Bracelet. In fact, latter in .hack//sign, there will be multiple Guardians that will attack Tsukasa and everyone else. So, unless each and every one of the Guardian's have the equivalent of Kite's Bracelet, then the ring cannot be the same as the Bracelet. And yes, the woman that speaks to Tsukasa is indeed Morganna. In a sense, she is the Goddess of "The World," at least until Aura is born.

And one more thing...I know this was probably answered in the series...but just to check:

 There is no Key of The Twilight, right? Like..it simply doesn't exist. Or...is that what perhaps is the bracelet.

Agh...I wish there was somebody to explain EVERYTHING....ie..a bandai rep..or the authors of the novels..

 The Key to the Twilight IS the bracelet that Kite uses..... At least I think It is.

Oh and for some Bandai rep explaing everything to us, that would ruin the mysteries that surround "The World". Its the mysteries what makes it so compelling.

yeah i agree with that the mystery is what keeps the audience coming back to it and i think that   the bracelet is just a ring in the guardian

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe that  Aura is the Key of the Twilight. If I remember correctly, she is the key to the new beginning of "The World," once she is born that is. Because when she is born, she will be the perfect AI, that Harold was trying to create. I'm not one hundred percent sure, and it could be the Bracelet, but I would have to say that the Key of the Twilight is indeed Aura.
Somebody else, may be able to explain it much better than I.

Then it wouldn't be a unique item.  There are nine...wait, no, TEN beings I can think of off the top of my head who have the ability to Data Drain...and who materialize a Bracelet while doing so. Since the show said the Key Of The Twilight was unique, I don't think that is it.

However, Aura is unique, and the items she gives you all have SOMETHING to do with Twilight. Since all the Phases were just created to feed stuff into her, I'd say they would be created with "Twilight Bracelets", which is what I'll tentatively call those glowy-cool bracelets

Yet Aura IS the Key. She is the key to the rebirth of the World.

Ooo...that's a good way of looking at it. And it definately seems practical, and keeps up with the urban legend of the  Key of the Twilight.

Man....watching this anime again makes me wish I really could play in the world...and I also wish that there weren't so many online losers (like I found in Everquest) who are just mean bums. Boo...I wish everyone wasl ike A-20 and Mimiru!

 The guardian is basically...a guardian given to Tsukasa by Morganna...yes the voice is Morganna...she can see everything that goes on in The World...well not Net Slum...Morganna used to be the almighty powerful one ^-^ but now that Aura was "born"she is no longer as strong...can somebody just comfirm for me...is Morganna gone? when Aura was "born" does that mean that Morganna will cease to exist?

 As the AI said, Morganna Mode Gone is sort of like Harold... maybe because he made her and the 'blackbox' and Morganna can do anything... I don't know about that part, but she is God in The World.

Oh, and Key of the Twilight:
 I think Subaru got it right, it's an event. Piroshi gave it away too in the G.U. messages. Something ending for another to begin, like the Key of the Twilight was Tsukasa to end her time in the game so that she could meet Subaru in real life, wanting to escape The World and go back to reality gave her a reason to get rid of Morganna and wake up Aura.

if you read aibuster it says that morgonna is the same as morgonna mode gone. which isnt really a name but its what its called. but this is the same as the herald hoewick guy in sign and the creepy voice in the weird rooms in the games. there the same thing. and dont forget that the bracelit kite had was more like an energy thing while shugos is a hexagon and the guardians is round.
