Don't get me wrong, if you couldn't stand the main character then there'd be no point in watching, what I mean is that the main character generally has faults. Tsukasa is introvert, Haseo is a coward, Shinji is emotionally stunted, and Watanuki complains a lot of the time. Far from making us dislike the characters, we want to see them become a stronger person and this is why we watch.
But as humans, we naturally seek the person that is stronger than ourselves, or the person we know nothing about. If a person is stronger than ourselves, we tend to idolise them and hope that we will become as strong as them. If a person is mysterious, we pay attention to them because we want to try and figure out what they're really like. This is why the general love interest stereotype is the 'strong and silent type'. Its not a rule, but it is the general outline of idolisation.
Yuuko is probably the most popular because she is so strong and mysterious, while Doumeki, another strong and mysterious character, is equally popular.
I like all the examples I gave myself, but I prefer Sora over Tsukasa, Saburou over Haseo, Rei over Shinji, and Yuuko over Watanuki. For me, it is an enigmatic personality that I like, so I will go with the strangest and most mysterious characters generally.

I'm guessing you meant the main antagonist?
In which case, he appeared to be the spirit of the house, or at least a spirit that lived in the house, and who befriended the young girl...
...he's definitely not a butler, and the only other men were Watanuki, Doumeki, and the collectors.

Does anyone know what the deal with Watanuki's sight is? I know that in a lot of CLAMP's work, characters have somthing wrong with thier eye/eyes (Like Fai) because one of the creators has somthing simmilar. But I didn't get the whole story with those two.

Haseo-Take your hat thingie off...
Sakisaka-My what?
Haseo- The hat palm tree head....Take it off!

Oh, that explains the eye thing. I was wondering why so many people were losing eye's in their series'.Mokona_Hime wrote:Does anyone know what the deal with Watanuki's sight is? But back to the question. I never heard of anything involving Watanuki's eyes (except for this one incident in the manga). Are you talking about his glasses or something else?

It's ok, take it easy.
Well, this is going to be some kind of a spoiler, so you better run out of your computers and take shelters immediatly if you didn't read Vol. 7.
goodbye evryone ^^
back to business.
Doumeki does something to a spider net, the spider gets angry and Doumeki says goodbye to his eye. And, don't remember how, it was Watanuki's fault for that incident.
Watanuki goes to Yuuko, and she tells him that the only way to repair Doumeki's eye is to say goodbye to his own eye. Therefore, Watanuki is one eye blind-folded now.

that's an interesting opinion, never though of that.
Well, in a lot of Clamps' series there are two people being deeply connected but seem to be like a cat and dog (wow, cat and dog XD now that does remind me of Kurogane and Fay), like in CCS - Sakura and her brother.
