the cat thing that kinda looks like mia that pops up everywhere, what is it and its purpose?

I can only think of Maha in the bonus Dungeon. That's Maha. She was a character in SIGN, and another form of Macha the Phase. She was Data Drained and became Mia.

Maha=Mia.
