I'm fixated on just using my standard DVD. Why buy something better when what you already have works fine anyhow?

I don't know what Blu-Ray is, but uh... I'd rather not not. No idea what some of this new technology is.

I'd probably pick Blu-Ray.Why?It holds more data.I heard something about the Main Menu being more iteractive or something like that.Too bad I forgot. Also heard there's some coat on Blu-Ray making it less vulnerable to scratches. The disc is also blue!My favorite color. 8)

Blu-Ray is the new format the PS3 is using. It holds more space than DVD and HD-DVD so you can stuff more things on there.A single layer Blu-Ray disc holds 25 Gigabytes.HD-DVD is the format Microsoft is supporting.A single layer disc holds 13 Gigabytes.(correct me if I'm wrong)You don't need it for the 360 but you can buy an add-on.I think most movies are Dual-layered for HD-DVD.Still,Blu-Ray is more expensive. The videos are also in High Definition and the sound is of higher quality.

I think I'm going to stick with DVD. Though to tell you the truth I really don't know what the difference is. XD

I´ll support Blu-ray. IN the years to come, it will replace definitively all DVD´s because they it can store large amount of data...

On the other hand, HD-DVD will probably be used more widely, especially with DVD being an established format.
I personally believe that the blue-ray drive is the reason the ps3 costs so much anyway. If anything, they should've waited until they could make the blue-ray system cheaper.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I don't have a HD TV, so it's pointless as far as watching movies, but I think it will be really great for the up coming PS3 games! :D I read yesterday that some of the PS3 games are already using 20 GBs! If that's true, it's looking very good for those of us who love RPGs with deep story lines, alternate events and endings. :D

Or it could mean they are slacking off with effectivity in the space usage, since they have so much space to waste. That, and it makes it sound like there's more. Now remember what they say about Just Cause.
"That's one hell of a big game world (second biggest ever after Daggefall), but do they have substance to fill it up with?"

Just saying more space doesn't have to equal more quality.

DVD.

My family and I are one of those types of people that really don't care and just buy technology when it gets cheap. My family didn't get a DVD player (psh, I'm not letting them use my PS2) until two christmases ago....it was $50 and came with surround sound speakers at Wal-mart.

On a side note, for those of you who have heard me say that I'm going to get a PS3 only a little while after it is released, I still do plan on doing that, so what I said above doesn't apply to it.

Comes wisdom at the last." ~ Antigone

I don't think you can talk about a game that no one has even played yet, one way or another. I'm keeping an open mind, and will see what the game reviewers say, what the game makers say and then I'll decide if I'm buying that game are not.
I've read one or two game critics who say that only in the last two years have game makers been able to totally use the PS2, so I don't expect them to make the best games for PS3 for a few years anyway.
