Close your eyes and do a dance. The only way to test the color scheme is to do it with the message board open. Suggestions are welcomed (I've been taking the previous ones in to account), but it's impossible to please everyone.

well almost everyone seemed to like it with the flashying yellow buttons and the black ones (2 b4 this one i believe)

but you're right it is hard to please everyone at this board

I think it would be cool if the board design reflected the source material (ie: high and mighty, semi-ridiculous use of technology). Maybe you could move from thread to thread by dragging your cursor across the screen...think like what Tom Cruise does at the start of Minority Report.

I dunno if it's possible to do something like that, but I'm sure it would be a hit.

Yeah, keep on with the on the spot-tests. It's just good.

Too bad i missed the blue =( My favourite color.

Edit: and i'm sure it would kill everything from computer preformance, to internet connection and the dothackers server o.o;

As you were stating, site's should be judged and cared upon the content, not the visual display which serves no real navigational purposes or new features.

The boards are starting to look very Americanly patriotic.

I personally like the steel blue color, although not exactly the red text.

Perhaps a faded image as a header and footer would work better.
Maybe designs from the Ryu Books as a suggestion.

Hexagons seem to be a recurring theme in .hack, so maybe you could try something with that. Like, have the buttons shaped like hexxes and the banners themselves containing a strong hexagonal/digital motif.

that's actually a really good idea. Like for the banner have it a bunch of hexagons locked together that stretches into a regular rectangular banner size.

Sure ,the world could be filled with gray, flat, buildings, but it ISN'T ; )

Maybe you guys could make it look like the BBS in the .hack//G.U. game. Lol I just thought I'd share an idea. I don't know anything about editing Message Board
