I have two comments on the radio drama (I cannot listen to it myself until I am in a postion to download it... I cannot from this military public terminal...).

I do not see how Ouka can be Mireille's sister. At 18 or so, I cannot bring myself to believe that Mistral is anything other then a young early mid twenties mother. I cannot believe that she had Mireille during the game and had a daughter 18 years before that, putting her in her forties, at least.

Am I wrong? Well I don't know. I've heard, "Ouka is her sister." I've heard "Ouka is her tutor." Which is real? <shrugs>

Also, the .Hack//Encyclopedia states that Hotaru is a girl. There is another book as well... argh... the title is .Hack//The World Almanac, I believe. It also states Hotaru is a girl.

There is...but I suppose it's in Japan right now and not in planned release for the US....I think Storm is from Japan...but I could be wrong.

I appogize. I was mistaken. The book is .Hack//Analysis.

.Hack//Analysis is a red covered book with small square pictures on the front of Kite... etc... mostly a red cover. I've seen it before.

BTW...

In the .hack//LOTT radio drama:

Ouka is a student at Tokyo University in real life. She is not Mireille's older sister, she is her tutor. Mirelle is a four-year old who is genius enough to play in "The World" and needs a university student for a tutor. She got a lot of her collection rare items from her mother. That, along with her appearance and age, are the 'hints' that she is Mistral's daughter.

Also, Hotaru IS a boy from America in real life. Hotaru's real gender and Mirelle's real age give Shugo much surprise and consternation.

The free host I was using to store the Sound Drama had server issues and they quote "We aren't trying our best to fix the server". Whenever they really try to fix the server, it will be back up.

Downloaded and watched. Thanks a lot d5t :)

Well, that was interesting. I was a little disapointed that it was a sorta fake episode in terms of animation. I was expecting a complete episode, like 27 and 28 in //SIGN. Some of the info was interesting though.

I'll buy Hotaru being a guy, but Im not believeing that his character was a male wavemaster. It looks female no matter how you look at it. I thought the coolest part was the implication that Mirielle is Mistral's daughter. The 4 year old genious was kinda lame, but it was a nice exceuse to fit it in the timeline. You kinda put it off as coincidental that she looks like Mistral, but the reference to the game is just awesome.

So yeah, those are my thoughts. All that's left now is the very last dungeon in quarantine and the mangas. Well, at least until Zero, Another Birth, and AI Buster come out

I am still adamant on this Hotaru thing.

The Facts:
1) .Hack//Encyclopedia entry for Hotaru shows the "unknown" female picture for IRL Hotaru. It states she is female.
2) .Hack//Analysis entry for Hotaru shows the "unknown" picture for IRL Hotaru, doesn't have a real-life name for her, but does state she is female.
3) .Hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet volume 3 shows all the major players IRL on the front of the book (under the slip cover... the cover that you're used to, with the Shugo, Rena, and Zefie on the front...) Hotaru's IRL self is shown, a school-age girl with a hat on, standing next to Wiseman.
4) Hotaru the PC wears earrings in both ears.
5) Hotaru the PC wore a yukata at the Tanabata Festival.
6) Hotaru the PC wore a female swimsuit at the beach.

and...

7) Hotaru is claimed to be a boy in the "Let's meet Off-line" sound drama.

I'm going with Items 1-6.

I agree with Storm. As I've said before, I'm of the opinion that Hotaru was actually a girl all the way through the series, and when they were making the radio drama, the makers just decided then and there to make her into a boy, just to make all the viewers go "shokku!"

As I replayed most of legend of the twilight yesterday, it became more apparent to me that everything pointed to Hotaru being a girl IRL. As you stated Storm, Hotaru's avatar has earings, wore a yukata in one episode, and wore a female swimsuit in The World. I'm also figured that most boys who play The World don't carry a Grunty around. Maybe I'm wrong about that though. I can't think of one thing in the anime that points to Hotaru being a male. I can safely assume the writers of Let's meet offline came up with that for the Sound Drama just to make the story even more interesting... even though making Hotaru a male is extremely incoherent.
