Should I get the first game?

Ok, I admit, I am a n00b to .hack. But I read every wikipedia article on it and read .hack// a new birth volume one. I realy want the game, but is it worth buying?

If you're interested in .hack it's worth buying. The games are probably the most important part of Project .hack.

Without Infection, you are basically missing what the entire purpose of the game is.

Without Infection, you basically skip Ch 1 in a book/DVD (choose your preference).

DON'T BORROW THE FOURTH GAME OFF YOUR FRIEND AND PLAY IT WITHOUT EVEN GOING HALF WAY THROUGH THE FIRST ONE. Believe me, it'll suck.

I've got a bunch of areas that I've missed, I have sucky characters even if they are level 70 and I don't know what's been happenning either.

Trust me, you know what happen's, but it's the emotion's you go through(as screwed up as that may sound!)

fighting the phases for the first time, and the cliffhanger after it!

and yes, get the first game. and the other three. you get much more story than what the books tell....and its a fun time waster until GU.
