Should I really bother collecting the rare items in Mutation

I spent time at the bonus dungeon Data Draing monsters with rare items but I lost a level because I used Data Drain to much. Are they really worth getting?

well...
1) if you are doing the item collection, yes
2) some can really help you
3) that level is simple to get back... (in one dungeon, i lost 4 levels)
4) its nice to have a lot of items to chose from, and you can upgrade them and stuff

Well, rare items don't count towards item completion and that's in vol. 4 anyway. You do get a lot of money for rare items, and it would be good to give everyone the best equipment. They're really good for trading too. Levels are easy to get back, don't worry about them. Worry about system error.
