You might want to level up a bit. He can be very tough with his attacks. That and the gamora make the fight even more tough.

Cubia's rather easy....bring 1 wavemaster and 1 heavy blade/blademaster and attack Cubia
He alternates from Phys def and magic def.
Kill all repth gorema's first and then go all out on him

yeah, as soon as the core starts spitting out repth cores, lock on and kill it! even if it is magic tolerance on the Cubia core, you will get further by killing the repth onnes first. Rig Saem (the SP recovery one) helped me a lot.

Kill Repth, then attack core

if its Phys. Tolerance, say [Everyone, Magic!] then kill the repth yourself.

then put the wavemaster on standby during magic tolerance, so he/she will have enough SP for the Phy. Tolerance

He really isn't that hard, especially since you have Mistral with you for magical support.

Bring a Heavy Hitter like Piros, BlackRose, or Sanjuro.

When it has Magical Tolerance up have Mistral handle healing and let your hitter smack the Core.

When it has Physical Tolerance have both your hitter and Mistral blow it up with magic while you handle healing.

In both cases your job is to locate and destroy the Repth Core before it can heal the Cubia Core. If you have some extra time focus on the Cubia Core before it switches tolerance, but really most of the damage to it will be coming from your partners.

the worst is getting him down really low, the having more than one repth core spawn, and you screw up and BAM! full health...

And Cubia only gets worse as the games progress. He's not really a hard boss, but he is super annoying and, as Karma said, repetitive.
"Instead of dwelling on the fact that I can't log out, I just think that I don't have to. After all, now I don't have to return to that ludicrous world. I like it this way...it's not so bad..."

None of the bosses in .hack are really that difficult.

What makes Cubia annoying/repeditive is the fact that you not only hacw the magic/phys. tolerances, but also need to deal with the Varias and Kill Goremas (not sure about spelling, but who cares?). With those respawning every time you lower the core to a certain HP level, it does get repeditive...at least the mixup is random. Just wait until the last Cubia battle (the BGM is kinda cool, but the battle get really annoying really fast)...

Everyone will say this, but here's what I did.

If you can get to cubia without a mage(except for mistral's dungeon) then take 2 heavy hitter's(like Sanjuro and B/Rose) and you play the healer.

Now the Gorma's will be vulnerable to anything which is thrown at them, be it magic or physical attack.

Once you know the core's first weakness:-
if it's magic, you order the other two to attack the Repth gorma while you use magic.
If it's physical attack's, order the other two to attack and you go after the repth gorma.

use the time in between gorma's to recover fully. revive when nessacary and he'll be a dead thing.

Just remember Kite can defeat Haseo and Co. with one skill, Drain Heart! Also, he loves cheese! So remember that next time you compare the two series!
