Let's not forget that that's not an in-game picture. That's a tcg card. In-game, i bet it's much clearer. (I actually haven't played quarantine...)

I can confirm that both the presence of a shadowy figure in the Cubia Core and its resemblance to Kite are canon, and mentioned in volume 4 of Another Birth during the next-to-last encounter with Cubia.

If Wotan says it's there. Then it's there. Get glasses if you can't see it. What kind of TV are you on anyway? I can see it very clearly in-game.

hmmm for me, its kind of a stretch... i mean that you are just drawing a random bubble that looks like him. i dunno i might not be seeing it clearly enough, but to me i think its a coincidence

OMFS...

So there's something in the core, which looks a lot like Kite, or a Twin Blade character with holsters on his/her back. But the resemblance to Kite is surely there.

Maybe the figure looks a lot like Kite because Skeith had probably collected remnants of data from Kite due to his experiences with death? (Orca perhaps, or something...) Then once Kite data drained him, and all the massive data became Cubia, the remnants of Kite and other players data with their experiences to death were stored in the core and that's what created that "Shadow Kite" within the core.

That's just a guess though. Feel free to shoot it down.

Look at the last picture posted by Akunaeru. Now, someone previously outlined where this 'Shadow Kite' was supposed to be. Since the outline is out, focus your eyes on the same area. Since there are no outside factors distracting your eyes from the picture, you should see a version of Kite in a sitting position, with his arms crossed over ontop of his knees pulled towards his chest. But of course, he's entirely dark. The core is too, so it's hard to see.

But it IS there. Or we're all crazy.

I don't recall anything in the core, but I thought I saw an image on Cubia's chest area before the 4th battle (as the camera zooms toward him as Kite and BlackRose fall toward him)...

Actually, i made both pics =P

Anyway, it just occured to me that
Roots spoilers That's almost the same position Tri-Edge was in when we saw him "awaken" for the first time. He was in that position. Connection between the shadow in cubia and Tri-Edge possibly?

hmmm interesting theory. i havent really even heard of try edge til a few days ago when i joined this forum

, but that seems like it could be connected. if the image in Cubia was in fact intended this would make a lot of sence. The .hack makers surely are a smart bunch, ill give them that. i wouldn't put it past them to include something like this just to see if anyone notices.

I noticed it when I played too. There is indeed a shadowy Kite figure in the core, curled up in a fetal position.

I think we know it's not exactly Tri-Edge if it's
the twin-blade in XXXX
He's very different from Tri-Edge, though I believe he does match that silhouette...

XXXX isn't canon right? But at least we know the shadow is. I'm sorry if that sounded mean. Sometimes my typing comes off that way. To be honest I never remember seeing it before. At least until I went back and checked for myself. I have a 19 inch CRT, until christmas...

In-game though, it had a hat. That boy doesn't.

i saw the kite in the core of the first battle in part2 . i could of taken a pic but i got killed. well i can still discribe it, the core looked the sameas the pic from last few posts with kite in it curled up but instead of the dark aura surronding him its white light. i'll try to get a pic of it later on.

the fights with cubia might be kite fighting with himself because cubia is the dark side of the bracelet and the bracelet is part of kite so cubia is also the dark side of kite so that might mean Tri-edge is cubia. cubia might of survived the fire from the CC Corp building and turned itself into part of the game system bringing cubia(Tri-edge) to The World R:2

Righto, i just fought the battle and took tons of pics. What i don't understand however is why only two of them remains o.o;

Anyway, i can assure you that Cubia Core indeed has a Kite Shadow inside it. They don't show it as clear as i'd wish, but here are the pictures as backup:

Some spell or whatnot was being used, so the shadow is red in this picture, but you can see it anyway

it's black like it normally is in this one

I'm sorry i couldn't get any better pics. I've got no idea where the rest of them went o.o;

Well, i wish i had the ps2 connected to my computer at the time. If i would've had that, then i could've recorded it and you'd have the perfect proof... Oh well, that should be good enough. It's not a tcg card
