Discussion on the top 10 RPGs on the Forum : You Chose

Post by JonFireblade »

There’s becoming an increasing amount of RPGs in here. I put this together as sort of a guide to new comers to this part of the site who might want to read some of the better (aka:longer) RPGs in here. Hopefully if new people see how to do good Rpgs correctly; we’ll get less of these stories that go no where ,and more of the ones that go longer then 5 pages.

My criteria for a “good rpg” (one of the more successfuls) is anyone that goes 12+ pages or has over 5,500 Views ( I'm looking for the best) I plan on taking the list and further investigating these rpgs by reading them.

Comments are welcome as long as everyone keeps it nice. I'm looking for constructive criticism. Not a Flame war.

I’m willing to add more to the list but anyone new will have their story read by me. And if I think they meet par I’ll stick them up for vote. I’m really not overly picky. But if it’s terribly boring or extremely unrealistic (aka -- no explanations for odd events or going ons) of course I’m not going to put it on the list of good ones.

Now enough of that. On to the good stuff.

Rating- scoreing 1 (bad)-10(best)

(1- Don't read it it'll make your brain melt
(2-Terrible
(3-Bad
(4-Needs work
(5-Average
(6-Fair
(7-Good
(8-Excellent
(9-Almost perfect
(10-Pro Writter. (Get yourself a Job)

-------Top Ten RPGs (Present)--------

As of -->9/1/06

(I've removed all Rps from the list until I can read some of the newer stories and rate them in comparision to the ones already listed. The Rps that have been up for votes for awhile now will be moved to a new list that I'm calling the "Classic Rps". This list just shows that these Rps have been reconized as good peices of work.

Almost half of these RP's I haven't been in, but to tell you the truth, I prefer .hack//Clan.

It just seems...well, more fun than others.

I guess it would be Clan.

Mainly because its the only one I'm a part of and I've not really seen much of the others.

I choose .hack//war.

Mainly since I've only been in two of the listed RP's and I think was the better.

well yea I can understand that most of us are going to vote for the RPGs we've been in, but all around this lets newbies to the web sites see some of the better ones. I mean how many ppl have tried starting an RPG and it going no where? alot right? O and btw if you like to read anyway you might try looking at some of these RPGs. Some of them are prety decient. although you'll have to decide for yourselves.

I suppose I shall read a few before I decide which is my favorite. I don't really want to pick Clan just because it's the only one I know.

I chose WAR because its the first RP I ever made. Plus the people who joined made the story turn out a lot better then I had in mind.

I'm currently reading WAR now. It's pretty good. I'm on page 7 now. I don't know why. But I read it and I feel like I'm a part of it. lol. It's quite interesting. So far my favorite character is Sakura.

Why thank you, thefullmetalalchemist. I didn't think myself to be a favorite of anyone. I figured Zephyrus would be many peoples favorite.

Length never guarantees quality. I've seen RP threads go on for dozens of pages that contain nothing but short, undescriptive posts that annoy the hell out of serious RP enthusiasts like me. Those who are descriptive annoy me instead by choosing to make their character impossibly overpowered, never taking damage, and overall being very difficult to share a story with. That's not to say I haven't found people on here who are good at RPing, but they are few and you know who you are. But what else can be expected? This site is not committed to serious RPing, as are many .hack forums out there.

Granted thats extreemly true. It is hard to find good ppl to RP with. but If I were you I'd take a good look at //Clan. All 6 of us took our turns playing the major roles. AND ours actully ends, it doesnt just keep going and going and going on and on; something we all agreed on via PM. We hope to make a new addition/ new chapter to the RPG.

But the point is I do agree with you, but as long as everyone realises the things being said here they might get ideas about how to make theirs ( their story) better.

I think my new rp has a relatively good story. For those of you who haven't seen it, you might want to go check it out. It's called .Hack//Assimilation. Anywho, from what I've read so far, I would have to say that .Hack//Clan is one of the best.

Hehehe Just I read the first post of .Hack//Assimilation. So far...not bad...not bad at all. It shows promise, but being that I'm not one for horror the first thing that ran through my mind was "....SICK!!!!"

hehe I dont really enjoy horror, I perfer stuff with flat out fighting:lol:

but still if its played right its got real potential :D

Well all I can say is thx. but trust me the ending is looking prety sweet right now so keep reading if you havn't finished.

Oh yea btw I'm planning on doing some reviews of the above listed RPGS and other role pays as well. Kinda give people updates on how they're looking.

What's this? The advertising area for our RPs? Well, I'm still looking for some solid RPers for mine, .hack//ERROR if anyone is remotely interested.
