Re: The Hidden Game
As Claire drove out of the area, a loud crash as the car struck something and sent it barreling back into the street echoed out. Zorlo stood up and adjusted his armor. "Well that was lucky... I'm not dead," he muttered as he dodged a few cars and navigated his way towards a sidewalk and pounded his gauntleted fist against the door as his armor faded. "You could have killed me!" he yelled with an annoyed look. "Anyway, I need permission to enter and speak to the girl, the boy, and that cat," the swordsman said.
I just saved your life. No, don't thank me. I'm only doing my job making sure that crazy blonde woman doesn't kill you. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? Maybe she brings you back to life to torture your corpse or something?
Zorlo chuckled as he smiled at Claire. "And Lady Claire, how nice to see you. I do require information. Can you please not leave yet... I'd rather talk to everyone and not play a game of cat and mouse with the mouthy girl."

Re: The Hidden Game
Cecile was in no mood to listen to more of what a driver of Claire's calibur wanted to say. "I'm not required to listen to anyone unless it's forced or benefits me. Either way, your concern doesn't benefit me more than usual." As she was ignoring the footage, and something about payment for information, Zorlo's hit jolted her a bit as she sat. From what it seemed, they were coming from the attack that Claire had been trying to get her to pay a lot of attention to. All she wanted to do was get to work now that all that it seemed the security guard was worried about was Maes being in with the wrong crowd. There wasn't a need for there to be more than a passing worry if she died.
Re: The Hidden Game
The second the car hit Z, her.45 was out and she fired off six shots at him. Fortunately for him, he has a rather powerful magic item that doesn't always listen to him when he tries to put it away. Still he ended up on the ground with a great deal of pain coursing through his chest, and Claire was out of the car by the time Cecile spoke. By the time he was able to catch his breath she was standing just out of sword range with the gun pointed at him and a grenade with an already pulled pin ready to throw, at Cecile, in her other hand. "Hello Sexy. I really hope you have a very good explanation for being here, otherwise I'm going to get all red about saving your life earlier."
Maes heard the commotion outside and did what Claire had told him to do, get in the safe room and call the police. Well, hit the police call button since he can't actually talk.

"Ow..." he muttered again as he rubbed his chest and sat up. "I was coming to make sure the kid, the girl and the cat were all safe. Instead, I got hit by a car and shot, and now I'm being threatened. I was making sure the creeps that attacked me were-..." Zorlo paused as he looked at Claire. "Wait... what do you mean, 'saved you earlier?' What do you mean by 'Sexy'. What the hell did I miss?!" Zorlo asked as his head began to spin for a second before he laid back down. "ANyway, sorry about the car, but I was in a hurry," he stated with a smile at her. "Anyway, has anyone attacked you all yet... I guess me excluded."
Re: The Hidden Game
It wasn't called a panic room for nothing, Maes found his breath quickening in spite of Morgan's assurances. He just knew that Clair and Cecile had been attacked by fallen, just like Zorlo had been, and they'd be breaking through that door any second now. So when the door slid open he had already worked himself into a panic state and threw up a wind shield.
Claire weighed what Zorlo said for a moment and then leaned in close to look him in the eyes. After a couple of seconds she smiled, "Sorry about that, here let me make it better." She closed what distance remained and kissed him. Before pulling away she holstered her gun and pulled him up to his feet. "Make sense now?" Claire put the pin back in and put it back where she had pulled it out from on the inside of the car door. "You might as well come on in. You too Cecile. Just make yourselves comfortable while I go get Maes and call off the police." When she opened the door to the security room Claire got thrown back by a burst of wind. She twisted in the air and hit the wall with her feet so that she effected a good landing. Annoyingly though a hair was knocked out of place, but that wasn't what she was concerned with. What concerned her was the torrent of air surrounding the door into the security room. Maes was in there, curled up in the corner with some sort of large black panther-tiger thing standing over him and she couldn't think of any way to get at him. With the winds like they were she wasn't sure she could hit the panther without risking injury to Morgan as well. "Ok, maybe the pumpkin's number two."
All Morgan knew was that the door had started to open and Maes had created a windstorm so he didn't very well know what was going on, but his track of thought was along the same lines as Maes, plus he smelled fallen on the air, and without really meaning to or realizing it at first he had grown quite large and strong, but still blind so he placed himself to best protect Maes should something get through the wind barrier.

"Umm... yes, I see," Zorlo said as he dusted himself off and started inside, making sure that Cecile was close. "So, just to make sure... you two kids didn't get attacked by anything strange, did you? No deathly pale folks swinging around weapons that generated light?" the green-haired man asked as he watched Claire leave and to get Maes and then stared at Cecile for a moment. "They aren't so much tough as they are crafty, but still. It seems you're okay, and I'm glad for that," he said with a nod. "Now then, let's get inside. Slightly safer than out here."

Re: The Hidden Game
"I'd prefer not to." Cecile spoke, her eyes closing as she turned around. "I'm not going in that house after I made that promise." She began her walk again, seeming to be thinking about something important. Her feet had learned how to travel long distances without showing she was tired or that she was hurting. It was easier to walk back to the life she already had ahead of her, rather than break the promise she had made to Claire. Denying the existence of her name would hurt far more than leaving Maes in that woman's capable hands.
Re: The Hidden Game
Zorlo watched as Cecile walked off and crossed his arms. "What in the world did I miss?" he asked Claire as he met her gaze. "Or would you rather discuss it somewhere else. After all, I'm sure checking on that boy is important, and I need to figure out what the hell you're on," he told her with a chuckle as he stood quietly. "So, we'll leave her be for now... no sense in trying to change her mind right now... from what I've seen... our enemies will do that for us," Zorlo said with a somewhat sad tone. His heart felt a bit heavy... but he couldn't figure out why... but it had something to do with those black-winged people he'd just murdered.

Re: The Hidden Game
((I play games for en afternoon and get a whole new page to read. Ahh... just like old times.... So, long post to make up for attendance issues!))
Arianna was nearly to the door. Her escape was perfect.... At least until one of Zorlo neighbors had decided now was the perfect time to come and complain about the noise being made. And so, angry old man from next door stepped into the doorway as the scarred girl reached it and nearly bumped into him, saying something about threatening to get him evicted from the place, and stopped as he, Fallen Angel, and Arianna exchanged an awkward three-way glance. "There you are!" yelled the Fallen angel as Arianna ducked back to just dodge several beam shots aimed at her face. The old man turned to flee and was summarily put to rest with a beam to the head. Arianna watched the man fall with some horror. The man was dead... But the beam that grazed her cheek through the couch momentarily put all thoughts but survival out of her head as she hunkered down again behind the now truly holy- err, holey couch. Another beam seared across her side, more then burning the skin, as another made her cry out when hit and burned deep into her arm, though it missed the bone, it seemed. The Fallen Angel just laughed at the girl's pain as she riddled the couch before approaching to finish the job, chuckling at the yellow puddle she noticed at the foot of it. A scared Arianna was already looking up as she looked over the couch back and pointed the gun. What she wasn't ready for was her vision to go so painfully white and her ears to start ringing...
Slowly, Arianna reopened her eyes when the last shot didn't come. Or rather, missed her, judging from the smoking hole near her head. She could hear something thrashing in the floor now that she could hear more then just her heart hamming in her chest. When she looked, she found the Fallen Angel holding her eyes and swearing rather colorfully and loudly between statements of what she'd do to Arianna after whatever happened wore off. Though confused as to how this happened, she didn't stick around to find out as she took off, half running & half gliding down the long hallway. She rounded the corner into the stairway when she 'felt' several beams hit the wall behind her. Oh yeah, time to go...
Allrainne, meanwhile, was heading up the stairs while thinking on what to say to her little sister when her armor ...tingled... for lack of a better word. The hell was... She didn't get the chance to finish the thought as a powerful flash lit the stairs, though it merely momentarily dazzled her eyes, followed by a thud of someone hitting a wall rather hard and a woman yelling in annoyance and pain. Something was wrong and that was enough to spur her up the few separating flights. The first thing she saw was Arianna slumped unconscious against a wall, likely the one that made the thud. In rushing to her sister, she could see the once more blinded, deafened and cursing Fallen Angel writhing on the floor asking why this keeps happening to her tonight on what was supposed to be such an easy job. That did it for Allrainne. The Angel didn't even get a chance to recover as the Armored Woman caught her by the throat and snapped her neck like a twig before going down to check on her just awaking sister.

"Hey, Sexy, I hate to disturb you when you're looking all thoughtful and all, but perhaps you could tell me." She grabbed him by the collar and directed his attention towards at the storm wall between them and a panther-tiger thing standing over Maes. "Why there is a whatever that thing is inside of the safe room? And perhaps also, why I was just thrown halfway across the house by a tornado that is inside the house?"

Re: The Hidden Game
Zorlo scratched the back of his head and sighed. "Well, simply put, its a long story. Basically, that cat is Morgan... he's taken a form to try and calm his servant, Maes, whom I'm assuming is making that wall of wind. Anyway..." Zorlo said with a pause as he pointed at Maes, "Kid, the Fallen are defeated. You can calm down now. I was coming to make sure you were okay, but it seems you're more in trouble 'cuz of you than because of them. That's good, but you need to calm down!"
Re: The Hidden Game
"Yes, because jungle cats are so calming." Claire muttered to herself. "You're not very good at this, are you?" She asked Zorlo. Everything he had said was entirely reasonable, and logical, and if Maes were a normal person it would probably have worked. But Maes and Morgan both knew that the Fallen were more than happy to use deception to get what they wanted and if they were here then everything they said could be a lie. "I have to make a call. Keep at it." She took several steps away before turning and coming back. "Oh, and don't forget. You're trying to calm down a mentally traumatized boy and his cat." She kissed Z on the cheek. "For luck." And walked outside to call off the police.

Re: The Hidden Game
Claire wasn't the other one having to deal with Law Enforcement, just the one having the better luck. While Claire was talking them off, Allrainne & Arianna was stuck talking to them along with one or two others about the 'Robbery turned Murder' that had taken place near Zorlo's apartment. It was all very much annoying but if nothing else, since the paramedics had also been called, Allrainne was about to get her injured little Sister patched up somewhat better that the clumsy care that she was able to give on her own. In the end though, with Zorlo's apartment trashed as it was and the Fallen Angels gone for the moment, she ended up going and getting her car for the two of them to set up outside while the Police finished upstairs.
Re: The Hidden Game
Zorlo flushed before shrugging it off and moving closer to Maes. "Maes, that's enough! THey're dead. All of the fallen angels that attacked me are dead... with the help of Allraine, we've bested them all. IF you want, I'll protect you from them as well!" Zorlo yelled as he continued to attempt to approach. "Just calm down... please," Zorlo continued yelling, attempting to get his voice over the wind.
Re: The Hidden Game
The wind wall sputtered for a few seconds and then died. The instant the wall gave way Morgan bounded out of the room and pinned the offending fallen easily under his now some several hundred pounds of magic infused muscle, with his fangs crushing its throat, drawn towards the sweet scent of pumping blood. It's throat was sturdier than he had expected and tasted of both magic and metal. Armor. And here I thought I might kill it too quickly to get any enjoyment out of this. He snarled something and the armor began to give. He got a taste of it's delicious blood and bit down harder. Wait a minute, a fallen shouldn't taste like this. Morgan released his hold on Z and licked him repeatedly before he reverted to his adorable little cat form.
Claire walked in about that time, and managed to hold some laughter in. "Well, I see you managed to get Morgan out." She looked past them at the unconscious Maes and checked on him. "Looks like he hyperventilated." She carried him to his bed and came back to Zorlo holding a first aid kit in one hand and lipstick in the other. "Ok, you have a choice. I can use bandages or just kiss it and make it better." "Well at least there's one human who's honest and knows how to approach the opposite sex. Go for the kisses, jester." He purred approvingly before jumping off of Zorlo. He licked his still bloodied teeth and curled up on the couch.

Re: The Hidden Game
"How about a mix of the two?" Zorlo asked with a chuckle as he felt the blood trickling from him. "But hot damn that hurt... perhaps kisses followed by bandaids, just like parents do for young children," Zorlo stated with a laugh as he smiled at Claire. "Although I leave it up to you how you think this would best be dealt with, ya know?" he said, smirking at her. He trusted her, but that didn't make his pain hurt any less.
Re: The Hidden Game
Claire tossed the kit at Zorlo roughly and walked out to the backyard, it seemed a small miracle that the glass in the door didn't shatter. Morgan made a noise that was either laughter or him hacking up a hairball, "Wow, you managed to say the one thing that would get you in the dog house. I have to ask, do you humans do this on purpose?" The feline hopped off the couch and headed for Maes room when he heard the boy rouse. He walked out into the hallway and knlet to pet the cat, "Hey Morgan, I had a weird dream." Maes said and then he looked up and saw Zorlo. "Oh." "Yeah, not a dream. Oh and the young squire over there mentioned children to Claire. She's in the yard now. I think everything that's happened today just kind of culminated now that the adrenaline's out of her system, so I'm sure she'll be fine in a few minutes." Maes nodded understanding of the cat's purrs, waved at Zorlo, and started cleaning up. The study was in shambles, to say the least, the food was still out, and his little panic attack in the safe room had thrown more than just Claire around. He motioned for Zorlo to take a seat at the table where the third tomato course he had prepared was still sitting, no sense letting it go to waste after all.And Morgan went back to lounging on the couch.
Re: The Hidden Game
Zorlo began treating the wound himself with a sigh as he looked at the cat. "No one asked you, whiskers," Zorlo said as he nodded at Maes and sat down, eating some of the food. "Thank you, Maes. Anyway, for now, i'm going to stay here for a little while until you've calmed down fully and then I'm gonna head home to check on my apartment... I have a very strange feeling something went terribly wrong there... just a feeling though. I could be GROSSLY over exaggerating," the green-haired man said with a smile.
"So, have you calmed down enough now?" Zorlo asked with a smile at Maes, thinking quietly to himself.

Re: The Hidden Game
Maes sighed and sat down in a reversed chair facing Zorlo. He stared at him, with an annoyed expression, for several seconds as a response. And then all of a sudden Zorlo found himself spinning in the air like he was trapped inside of a whirling marble. When Zorlo found himself seated in a stable chair again. Maes moved his hand in the air levelly and then moved it around sporadically and then back to level. Finally, he gave Zorlo a shrug.
Morgan switched for a second, "That's Maes's way of saying he's fine right now, but he could snap at anytime." He switched back and went to the backyard. Maes nodded agreement with what Morgan had said and sipped his water. He pointed at Z and himself and motioned outside, with a questioning look.

Re: The Hidden Game
Zorlo nodded and sighed. "Yes, let's go outside and keep an eye on Morgan. That's probably for the best," the green-haired man said with a smile as he stepped after the cat and smiled. Today certainly was shaping up to be an interesting day after all.
