Re: Eternal Dawn
Nok laughed a low rumbling noise. "It is not me you will serve. You will be serving Nok." Ember's voice came to Hale fractured and echoing. "Nok, in this instance, means the world." Ember then walked out of an opaque stone next to the gigas and inclined her head to it. "What do you think daughter, Nok?" Ember studied Hale's face for a moment before nodding, "Nok." Nok strode over to Hale and jammed a stone the size of Hale's head into the boy's chest. Nok became transparent crystal and disappeared from sight leaving Hale alone with Ember as the stone began to grow and cover Hale's entire body, leaving him blind and in the dark.
The next thing Hale saw was a mass of white hair rising from him and then Ember's face. She smiled down at him, backed by the sky, apparently when he had fallen to the ground at some point. "I'm glad, Father approved you joining me. You are now his vessel." Well, all she said was "Nok." but he knew that was her intention. "You won't be able to understand the other words until you have met the mothers, but it's a start." Hale felt stronger, sturdier, and all of the exhaustion and weariness he may have felt before was gone, as were any injuries and scars. And gone too were his earthy brown hair and tanned flesh, they were now snow white just like Ember's own.
A boar the size of a bear with multiple vicious tusks and covered in bones jutting out of it's body like spikes barreled at them. Ember grabbed Hale by the collar, leapt into the air, and hung there for a second, supported by nothing but the air itself. "Nok."(You can manipulate whichever element you are the vessel for, in your case earth, without invoking it's name and without a focus just by willing it to happen, as you did in Nok's chamber when you moved the stone around you to allow you to stand. But it is one of our closest guarded secrets, so only do so when there are none to see it. Otherwise, you must kill any witnesses.) She let go and let him fall to the ground. Between it welcoming him by giving a little and his strengthened body Hale was completely unhurt by the fall. "He's all yours." Ember said and simply watched as the massive boar turned around, surprisingly nimbly given it's girth, and charged Hale again. She would make sure he didn't die, but that was it. He needed to get his feet wet after all.

Re: Eternal Dawn
Dimitri was overjoyed with battling his brother, he couldn't help but be. It reminded him of playing when they were younger. It reminded him of fighting alongside Soma, all those years ago. This joy, however, was put to an end by a mysterious man who stood atop an earth-crafted wall. Crafted by magic, but crafted nonetheless. “Who are you? This fight is not yours, leave at once or you will face the wrath of the Sages!” Dimtiri howled at Carson and revealed his flute. He would play his flute and remove Carson in any way possible.
Hale cracked his knuckles and dug his heels into the dirt, he knew his form was different, but took know time to look it over. The earth below the boar rose up and split, leaving the boar to fall into the earth. Hale jumped immediately, and the earth spit the boar back out, but it was obviously wounded. Hale charged at it once more, delivering a kick to it's face, and knocking one of it's tusks loose. The boar tried to impale Hale but Hale grabbed the boar's snout and lifted it off the ground and slammed it back on the ground, full force. The force shattered its legs and he spared it no mercy as a spike of earth pierced the boar where it's body lied, broken, beaten, and now dead.

Soma: I'm not one to agree with him but he's right don't interfere Carson! ( he deactivates his alpha stigma before his mana is completely drained as he can't help remember it was allways the sages mentor who broke up the fights between soma and dimitri)...allways getting in the way
Carson:( he sits as he lets his feet hang down from the wall) relax I'm not looking for a fight and you can't bluff me I can tell at most you have enough magic to form one maybe 2 spells your magic is completely spent as well as this guy ( after simitris question) me? I'm Carson I'm just mercenary...wait wrath of the sages??....( he looks over his shoulder) what the f*ck did you do?! And now I meddled in a sages affairs...well it doesn't matter I have my reasons for helping this guy .( as the moon shines down it reveals hair as white as snow along with his tanned skin as he brandishes his pole arm)
Soma: get out of my way Carson! This isnt any of your business
Carson: sigh I'm doing you a favor here if you keep it up neither of you will come out on top your magic will expended before the battle is over in both your current states...Deep down you both realize I'm right about this
Soma:damn let me finish this Carson! *sigh* ( a couple of moments pass).....tch! Whatever ( he falls down as he places his arms behind his head as if he's lying Down) I'm tired anyway too many distractions just when things were starting to get good too ( he smiles playfully to himself)

Re: Eternal Dawn
Rmer lighted down next to Hale and gathered her gear. "You're too aggressive. Using magic so much from the get go can make you lightheaded and vulnerable." As if to exemplify her point the boar suddenly lurched back to life and impaled Hale. Ember drew her blade hacked through it's tusks and then it's head. "Aesir." She caught Hale and set him gently on the ground. She poured what what she had over the injuries, "Luca.", she said as she covered them with her hands. When she pulled away at last his injuries were no longer bleeding, but they still hurt a lot. Ember leaned her back against a tree. "We'll rest until you have recovered. Get some sleep, see your father." He's too raw, I can't take him with me when I go after the other four, he could die and then I'd be alone again.

Bianca smiled wider as Edgar continued explaining his faith in her actions. He had always been her best friend, but what he was doing right now reassured that fact in her mind. No one else would have been able to make her feel so much better in such a short amount of time. She took a comfortable breath and looked at the garden before them just in time for a pair of birds to swoop by them and land on the ground. They began eating a few fallen seeds from some of the flowers bordering the garden.
"You really don't know how much I've missed having my best friend around. I could have used your faith in me and your positivity so much during my last bit of training."

"Well, I was one of the top graduates..." Bianca replied with a faint blush on her cheeks. She didn't want to seem as if she were bragging, even though she knew he would never take it as such. She continued with a soft laugh, hoping to kind of stir the conversation away from her graduation just in case. "But even so, your help would have saved me a lot of stress, and pain, and late work, etcetera, etcetera. And trust me, I wish more than anything that I could have been adventuring with you instead of being stuck here. Helping you stay out of trouble would have just been a fun extra to the adventure of it all."
"You didn't end up in too much trouble while you were gone, did you?" she finally asked, turning her full attention back to Edgar with a teasing expression.

Re: Eternal Dawn
((I read “Too Raw” and felt like Hale was a major badass.))
Dimitri was not one for giving up, however, he knew he could not defeat the two of them. He channeled his magic, and stared at Carson. Noting as much as he could on his appearance. He would not forget him. Dimitri played another tune, and in a flash he was gone.
Dimitri was now in the castle's grounds, he felt his body hit the wall and let it slide to the floor. Dimitri was bordering on extreme fatigue. He couldn't do much of anything, but his will allowed him to get up on his feet. He used the wall for support as he looked for his brothers, to warn them that Soma now had an accomplice.
Hale laughed, even though it hurt to laugh, and placed a hand on the spot where just a moment ago the boar had tore a hole through him. He drifted off seemingly peacefully to sleep, his face still stained with his smile.
Although he felt as if he had just woken up when he fell asleep. This time was much more different than any other sleep he ever had. There was a darkness he could not comprehend. Hale seemed worried, but something caught his eye. It was a light, a small light, that was very far away. Hale sprinted for it, hoping to find out what was going on.
As he approached the light he noticed it wasn't a light, but rather a person. This person, taller than Hale by some miracle blessed on by genetics, was none other than Hale's father. Although Hale had never had the honor of hearing his father introduce himself by name, he knew this was the “Grand” Cetus Highwind. Tears welled up in Hale's eyes as he finally approached his father and embraced him. “Pop! I-it's really you!” Cetus was a man who looked just like his son, save for the graying that was happening all around. “Hale? I never thought I'd get to see you all grown up. You look... different.” Cetus responded, returning his son's embrace, but not before noticing the snow white that covered his son all over. “This isn't being pale, what happened?” Cetus asked as the two took a step back from their embrace. Hale scratched his head and looked at his father, wiping away and residual tears. “I'm going to become a ranger, Father Nok did this, although I feel better than I have ever felt before.” Cetus nodded and sat down, asking Hale to do the same. “So then Hale, how old are you now?” “Not as old as you are pops!” hale said with a laugh before answering. “Pop, I have a question for you, how'd you die?” Cetus shook his head, “Why would I put that in your head boy? Don't think about things like that, life's too short for it. How's Clarice?” Hale shook his head, oblivious to the light that the two of them now shared. “When?” “Just last year. She got real sick ya know?” Cetus nodded, “How was she before that?” “Pretty messed up. I mean you left her, how was she supposed to hold up? She tried real hard, she tried, but I knew she wasn't alright.” Cetus nodded, and the two sat in silence.
“I'm glad I got to talk to you pop.” Hale said, patting his father's shoulder. “Hopefully next time we meet it can be the three of us, and it can be more fun.” Cetus nodded, and Hale noticed a tear drop from his father's eye. “Yeah, that would be nice.”

Re: Eternal Dawn
((Too raw, too powerful, too ludicrous!)
Ember watched Hale sleep for a minute. She swept the hair out of his face and smiled at him and then frowned as she stood and hurried towards the presences. They had gathered together, sooner than she had anticipated. When she had gotten closer their presence had scattered, it was still there it was just spread out and covering a wide area, that was not a good sign. She was both glad and sad that she hadn't brought Hale with her, she looked back in the direction she had come then shook her head. No, it's too dangerous he hasn't even mastered Nok yet and with four I can't risk being distracted. She took a deep breath and found herself hoisted into the air, through the limbs of several trees and suspended above a cold dark grove filled with blackened plants. Including an especially large great oak tree that was staring at her with an evil grin. Ember twisted and cut the limbs holding her, "Serah", the wind caught her and she jammed the sword into the trunk of the tree, growled "Aesir." and her spirit flowed through the hilt, down the blade, and through the tip into the tree. This beast had been old and powerful and something was suddenly wrong so she retreated before she could finish it and she fell to the ground hard and unceremoniously. What's going on? She rolled to the side on instinct and narrowly avoided a great double headed axe shattering the ground where she had landed and then she found herself pinned under a foot the size of her chest she was certain of this because it was crushing the entirety of it. Fortunately whatever's foot had landed on her had not expected to do so because it slid across her armor, hitting her in the chin and then it fell on it's back with a loud thud the tree trunk of a leg landed on top of her shield and she squirreled out from beneath it and hamstrung it on her way back up to her feet.
It was a bugbear, she had no idea why it was called a bugbear it had more the physique of a guerilla and the muscles, with the fur, ferocity, and muscles of a bear, with a head that somehow combined the face that combined the ugliest features of both of those and a timberwolf and the muscles to go with that were somehow tacked on to all of the others and on top of all of that it held a greataxe and if that weren't enough there was a second bugbear. Two bugbears, a treant, and where's the fourth? "Serah." She tried to call to her mother to find the last one, but Serah hadn't heard her. As she drew in a breath she discovered what was wrong, the air was dead. "Nok." She said and tried to spike the downed bugbear, nothing. "I haven't hunted one of you in a while, it would have been so unsatisfying if you had fallen prey to that old trick." Ember didn't have time to figure out where the voice was coming from, she had a tree bearing down on her, and it kept her away from the injured bugbear, trying to back her into the one still standing. Smart Valhallans, fantastic. Put together by number four no doubt, probably a worm that walks. Internal magic only. "Nok." The axe came down with enough force to shatter a boulder, which is approximately how strong her bones were, at that instant, fortunately she had armor for that sort of thing. The giant axe cleaved through the mithral struck her forearm bone and stopped Ember jumped and drove her sword through the bugbear's chest, during the instant it was stunned by the counterattack and her not being cleaved in twine, she grabbed the handle of the axe, yanked it out of it's enormous paw and spun repeatedly shouting "Milly!" She sped up to inhuman speeds and smashed the weapon into the oak. It went almost all the way through, almost. It wrapped her in limbs and hoisted her into the air and began to crush. Ember responded by doing something extremely dangerous. "Serah Darklight." Ember became the wind for a second, death bore down upon her instantly and she had to revert to physical form before it killed her the very instant she was no longer held. She grabbed the handle of the axe as she fell and used her momentum to help her swing it free and then come around from the other side finishing the tree off. Her fingers slipped from the handle as it jarred against the wood and the treant fell. Countless cuts, both external and internal had appeared in that instant of reducing her body into the wind. The only thing she now wore was blood, her own blood, and a lot of it, it made her hands slick and the pain was intense, but she was alive, she had a greataxe that she could barely move and there was just a bugbear between her and the worm that walks, scratch that, two bugbears the second was getting up now. "Luca. Nok." No sense in this being boring. She thought to herself as she repaired and strengthened her muscles, or at least she tried to but it didn't work. "I am impressed. I can't say that I've seen many of you survive doing that, but now your magic is completely closed off." A humanoid figure formed out of countless worms that crawled out of the treant's topmost branches. It was composed of countless crimson worms. Physically, it wasn't very strong, but it was smart, it was powerful, it negated all magic in it's vicinity except for it's own, and the only physical attacks that worked at all well involved blunt force trauma.
Ember whirled the great axe above her head with surprising strength given her injuries. "You have denied me access to magic, stripped me of both my armor and my favored weapon, and severely injured me. Do you truly believe that just you and a pair of bugbears are going to be enough to slay the last of the rangers?" The worm shambled back behind the two bugbears as they bounded towards her. It had no expression to read, but it writhed enough that it was plain to see that it had been expecting her to be rattled and trying to escape not standing her ground with such an air of confidence. So that's why they use so many words, it's more menacing. "Serah." She muttered quietly, with inhuman grace and flexibility she twisted and bent like a leaf on the wind as she avoided the onrushing bugbears' attacks. The worm that walks joined in the fray then, by sending a bolt of death and decay arcing around the bugbears to try and catch her, but she just dodged that too and the following ones, making it angry and it's attacks both more frequent and more frantic.

Re: Eternal Dawn
"You? Some trouble? I never would have guessed," Bianca continued teasing, glad for the emotional relief. A knock at the door frame beside them echoed, pulling Bianca's attention to it immediately. Justine stood in the open doorway, a half smile lighting her warm face.
"Adrian said that some important business had come up, but that if he could get everything in order before night fell, he would try to stop by and see you both. So I suppose we'll see later if he can make it home tonight or not, but if not, at least I have my babies back for a little while," she almost sang in the end, an excited motherly glow overtaking her demeanor again. It was obvious that she couldn't be more thrilled at the fact of having both Bianca and Edgar back home for the first time in years.
"If it's what I'm thinking, he should be home around night fall," Bianca replied with a tender smile. She wasn't sure what lay before both her and her father when the sun rose tomorrow, but she could at least guarantee that they would be home tonight. Hopefully they would remain home tomorrow as well, but she knew better than to even begin fostering a false hope when it came to that.
"Well, I certainly hope so. It's been too long since I've had my whole family home." Justine smiled while joining the two outside. She pulled the door closed behind her and took a seat at the bench opposite them on the other side of the door.
"Adrian said that some important business had come up, but that if he could get everything in order before night fell, he would try to stop by and see you both. Re: Eternal Dawn
Justine seemed to seriously think Edgar's question over for a moment. She ultimately nodded, a somewhat mischievous grin lighting her face as she did. "That sounds like a plan, Edgar. He would do it if it were you refusing to come home, would he not? So let's make sure he comes home tonight, even if it is only for a few hours."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Bianca chimed in with a grin of her own. If Edgar could make her feel as much better about the situation as he had, then what could he do for her father? If Edgar could get her father in a better mood, then perhaps she wouldn't be sent off before the sun rose the next day, after all. "But just go prepared for a fight if you do, Edgar. You know how he is about his work..."

Re: Eternal Dawn
"Give him another thirty or so minutes," Bianca called before she really realized that she had spoken. In order to cover the awkwardness, she continued by explaining her statement. "When I went to see him, he said that he had some things to take care of today that had to be taken care of. If you go in and try to pry him away from those, he won't come home for a week or so. Period. If he's finished with that when you go, however, he should give in and come home for at least a little bit."
"He did seem awful busy when I stopped by as well, but you would know best, Bianca, so if you feel Edgar should wait, then perhaps we should be patient. It is getting late, though, if you two want to go inside to wait. I need to start dinner since I actually have everyone home tonight, but feel free to do whatever you wish. The rooms are still the same, and Edgar, yours was left the same as when you left it. I've cleaned it, of course, but everything is still where you left it, so feel free to do whatever you want to with it," Justine said as she stood, turning back toward the house.

Edgar: wait....I seriously get to eat one of Justines famous home cooked dinners!...this day kust got better! but yeah I think I'm gonna go clean up for dinner and stuff and again thank you it means alot to me you guys....{ he walks as he enters his room it feels silly but he can't help but smile to himself widely as a tear rolls down his face and quickly wipes his face} no time to be nostalgic come on i can't let biana see me cry like that { he set his sword down against the wall and he sits on his bed and he looks around due to the years hes been gone the room seems exactly the same but to hm it seems like it has grown abit smaller but in reality Edgar just grew up over the years as he takes a book from the shelf and he opens it and smiles to himself after a few moments} she really did leave everything exactly the same...{ he hops into a shower and he cleans himself off from his long journey home and he changes into more comfortable pants that are basically just common clothing and realized he forgot a clean shirt in his room as he walks out of the shower ith a towel on his head and comfy pants} *Yawn* man I forgot my shirt thankfully the house is warm

Re: Eternal Dawn
When Bianca heard the shower cut off, she grabbed a change of clothes for herself and began walking down the hallway. She had been lost in thought since she had come back inside, but the sound of a yawn pulled her back to reality and stopped her in her tracks just short of the bathroom. "Oh, sorry Edgar," she said, looking down at the clothes in her hand as she realized that he was shirtless. It wasn't that it was awkward or anything, as they had practically grown up together, but it had been a few years since they had been around one another, and she couldn't help but blush slightly in embarrassment.
"If you're done, you could probably go and try to drag my father home at any time now..." she added, her gaze still averted.

Re: Eternal Dawn
At the first 'knock,' Adrian immediately looked up at the large wooden door, his right hand going for his blade instinctively. When he heard the voice, though, he relaxed and a smile spread across his face. "Unbelievable..." he whispered to himself as he stood, walking over to the door as soon as he placed the last signed paper in a stack. He grabbed a wooden practice sword from a rack beside the door and took a fighting stance from beside the door. He counted to ten mentally and opened the door, thrusting the wooden blade toward Edgar's throat as soon as the door was open enough to expose him.
"You think you can just walk in here and barge your way in after eight years, Edgar?" he asked with a grin, looking Edgar straight in the eyes.
