story: its been almost 12 years since the Ragnarok war the war that the gods waged against humanity it has also been 12 years since the Light devouring beast was sealed away during the Ragnarok wars many lives were lost and sacrificed that is until te 4 sages took a stand against the unholy creatures Known only as the Aesir gods The Aesir gods appeared and began to weild god like powers and fought with demons to purge our world gaia of humanity it wasent until the sages appeared marked the turning point in the war the sage of the north the east the south and the west took up arms to lead the Celestia army into combat the battle was fierce it is also said the sage of the west now known as the light devouring beast became corrupted by his own great power and betrayed his fellow sages and with a magic of the gods known as the alpha Stigma attempted to purge the world in eternal darkness this man betrayed humanity's trust it wasent until the great battle at sword valley that the 3 sages engaged the beast in a fierce battle it was this battle that marked the turning point of the Ragnarok war unfortunately many were sacrificed and the sages battled for 3 straight days eventually sealed away the Light devouring beast with the help of the sages sacred items and if that battle happened any differentally the war could of destroyed our world....Atleast thats how the story goes thanks to the bravery of these sages the world has finally attained beast but something seems wrong their have been tremors happening more and more lately and it may look like we achieved peace but some still believe we are in the middle of the Ragnarok war and that was just the opening act infact the Aesir gods still roam our world causing havoc everything seems to be traced back to the kingdom of Baronia the Ragnarok is approaching soon the true conflict between men and gods will begin.

??????:( he breaths softly like the noise azure kite makes)....first comes destruction... ( a short tremor can be felt near the vicinity of the ruins)...let me out!
Another tremor shook the area around the ruins, but yet the guards outside it stood still. This had been going on for awhile now, so they had grown used to it and had adapted to it. "Should we go in and check things out, Bianca?" a male knight called to his female companion. The two knights always stood guard at the ruins and whenever anything slightly strange, even the tremors that had been occurring so frequently lately, one of them took a closer look at the seal within. It was regulation to keep the world safe from the beast that was sealed away. The female turned and looked toward the ruins, nodding to her partner.
"You checked last time, Nathaniel. I'll check this time." She walked to the opening and began the descent into the mouth of the ruins. Once at the bottom, she reached onto the wall and took the lamp, lighting it with a stored match. The previously dark room grew brighter, allowing her to see the seal on the ground. It looked okay from where she stood, but as per regulations, she took a closer look.
As she drew nearer, she thought she heard a faint sound. It sounded like breathing, but it was far too shallow to be her own. She froze beside the edge of the seal and began to draw her sword with her free hand, interrupting the breathing sound with the faint sound of metal sliding free.
Hale sighed and rustled his hair a bit. "What's that sir?" His commanding officer growled, "Sealing Chamber, what's inside it and why do we guard it maggot?" Hale straightened up and answered firmly, "The light devouring beast sir! If it were to get out, it would be the end of us all sir." His officer then asked the next trainee, "And why don't the three sages just deal with..." His voice trailed off in Hale's mind. All he could imagine was battling alongside his deceased father, the two of them being hometown heroes.Though he knew it was impossible, he still held that dream. The tremor shook Hale awake, "What was that?" His officer snapped back, "Don't worry about it maggot, just stay put."
Ohta stood staring at the castle, he knew the time was coming, the time for the humans to truly pay for what they've done to the world. He didn't care that he was a human, or that the Light Devouring Beast was human as well. Ohta simply turned his back and leaned against the castle's wall. It wasn't time for a feeding, not did Ohta feel the need for a snack.
?????: first comes destruction...wait this feeling ( he senses Bianca) this is it!...( he the seal begins to crack as a ominous aura fills the room) *brething softly* ( chains erupt from thw ground as what looks like a creature slowly rises up though his arms are chained together and has some sort of helmet on that makes him look even more like beast) ......rrrggh ( he glances around the room).....( breathing softly)
Avan: ( arrives on scene as the area surges with the power from the seal breaking)
??????: ( he looks over his shoulder as he jumps out of the way as a Aesir creature erupts from the abyss) rrrggghhhaaaggh! ( he starts running As he head buts the creature cracking a piece of his helmet revealing one of his eyes as a magic circle appears in his eye revealing his alpha stigma)ragghhhh!!!!! ( he jumps infront of Bianca as the the beat begins to attack as the masked man places up a barrier)...ragghhhh!!!! He pushes the beast back as Avan and Loki appear brandishing their weapons as they strike At the masked man) raGgghh!! ( he gets knocked into the opposite wall)
Avan: ( he looks towArss Bianca) knight what's the situation here!! ( he draws his custom broadsword as Loki gathers magical energy to form knives)
"If something happens it will all be because of me." Dimitri ran through the maze of halls. He felt the tremors and knew exactly where they were coming from. The guards posted there would stand no chance. he approached the male knight from behind, "Stay where you are, do not move, we shall handle this." He brandished his magical flute as he entered the chamber. "Avan, Loki, what is going on here? I was inspecting the castle when I heard the tremors, is this the cause of them?" He asked. "Soma!" Dimitri cried out playing his magical flute to create barriers around his brothers, the female knight and himself.
"I'm... I'm honestly not sure, sir," Bianca replied, brandishing her sword. She gripped it before her with her right hand, holding it initially in a defensive stance. She dropped the lantern as lightly as possible and put both hands on the hilt, her gaze never leaving the masked man. Her stance mirrored the way she held her sword; she was prepared to defend herself and the man beside her should she need to. The lantern light flickered and died as it hit the ground, the tinkling sound of glass breaking filling the silence for a split second.
"Is this... Is this the Light Devouring Beast? It can't be... It's been sealed away for twelve years... The seal can't possibly break... Right?" she asked aloud. An answer probably wouldn't even catch in her mind should she get one, but her mind was racing with questions and fear.
What is going on?... she thought to herself. Her grip on the hilt of her blade grew tighter with a mixture of adrenaline and fear, but she kept everything except confusion from her expression. A knight was trained not to show fear, and Bianca would do her best to utilize her training as best as possible no matter what was happening. Another man entered, but she kept her gaze ahead of her. She wouldn't take her gaze off the man she believed to be the enemy.
Soma:( he turns around as he glances towards dimitri) *breathes softly* aaarrrgghhh!!!! ( he he manages to kick the Aesir beast as a magic circle appears and a raging inferno is released clearing way of the Aesir)
Avan: it looks like the beast broke the seal damn! We have to hurry ( both he and Loki rush as they fight off the beast as they knock him around much as Avan slashes down with a magic attack imbued with his blade soma manages to block with the chains which causes them to crack) damn!
Soma: raaaaggghh!!( he leaps forward as he kicks Avan back as he blocks oncoming attack from Loki with a barrier as the earth starts to geyser towards Loki soma unleashes a wind magic as he analyzes the attacking magic) analyze.... ( the aesir beast Continues to go attack as it knocks soma away)...raaaaggghh!!!!! Back off! Analyze existence!... Destroy!!!! ( a huge surge of magic fills the air as his arms become free a a scythe of magic energy appears in his hands he engages Avan Loki and dimitri in a battle As Loki u leashes a earth spell it manages to knock soma back but he keeps pushing forward it's evident how years of cAptivity have caused him to go rusty as he glances towards Bianca his gaze seems strange not the gaze of a monster but the gaze of someone trying to reeasure the scared girl)
"Run!" Dimitri blocked Soma's path of sight by standing in front of the girl. "Go and inform the other knights of what is happening." Dimitri trained his eyes to Soma as he began playing his flute. He played fast, but didn't sacrifce grace, each note followed the last in a beautiful manner. As be played flames encircled Soma, "Avan, Loki, the only way for us to possibly defeat Soma is if we work together! I'll handle support while you two attack!" Dimitri played more songs on his flute, if they let Soma escape now, catching him would prove to be almost impossible. He returned to playing, his tempo rising with the songs of his flute.
Ohta stood up, he could hear the commotion inside the castle, and now was a prime time to strike. He moved silently, one with nature it seemed.
At the man's warning, Bianca turned toward the only exit, hoping to get Nathaniel quickly so she could stay and help. It was then that the Light Devouring Beast met gazes with her. It froze her in place, almost petrifying her for a split second. She snapped her gaze away and shook her head clear. She realized what the man before them was trying to do and ran, getting in between him and the stair out of the ruins. Hopefully Nathaniel would hear the commotion and call for backup. The man at the center of the fight didn't look like the demon she had imaged from the stories the people told of the Light Devouring Beast, but judging from how everyone around her was acting, she needed to keep him from escaping at all costs. She returned to a defensive stance and held her sword before her, watching the variety of men before her go back and forth with a variety of magics. 'If he goes to exit, I'll do whatever it takes to stop him... I have to. He may look human, but I know what he really is...'
Soma: trust me ( almlst as if he wanted the young knight to hear him although kt seemed hks question was directed at nothing as he try's to escape the flames by jumping But Loki knocks him to the ground) arrgghhh!!!!!
Loki: ahahahahahaha!!! I gues wht big bad light devouring beast isn't anything do special he's kinda weak! ( he narrowly dodges the scythe attack as soma grabs him and knees him in the gut hard)
Avan: don'tet your guard down idiot! ( he rushes at soma as he clashes weapons) damn you....
Soma: don't get in my way ( he analyzes dimitris magic as he unleashes a copy flame towards dimitri as he knocks Ava off balance and he continues to clash with the two while trying to keep dimitri at bay as he pushes the two back as two giant magic circles appear as the cover both the ceiling and the floor it's evident soma is getting ready for something big as he continues to clash with the 3 as he closes the galto simotri as his scythe connects with his barrier) aaarrrgghhh rraaagghh!( the rest of Alma's chains finally shatter) come on brother you honestly think you can take me by yourself you may be my big brother but it took all 3 of you last time! ( he gets knocked back by dimitris magic as the two begin clashing magic though soma is getting tired as he gets nailed in the face by a blast of magic cracking half of his helmet off so he looks closer to human than before) what I seek is thunder! Izujin!!!! ( he launches a blast of lighting towards dimitri whilst battling Avan and loki)
Loki: damn how do you keep up beast!
Avan: shadow assault! ( he forms doppelgängers that rush towards soma) were keeping him as he's sedan lord dimitri but look at the magic circles what contract is he conjuring?! It's something big)
Dimitri could not attack and defend at the same time, he dodged the cloned fire attack, while still playing his song, however, he knew that they were losing. Dimitri began playing a different tune altogether when a flash of lightning appeared before him. He couldn't hear nor see as he regained orientation from the blast. He could hear Avan's voice faintly, but not what he was saying.
"We can't let him leave, even if he's our brother! This time we may have to kill him!" He readied his flute and played a different tune. This one was slow, but the music came out loud and clear. 'However, if I can cast him in this illusion, perhaps we may stand a chance.' Slowly, the walls around the four began to melt away into nothingness, The ceiling above them doing the same.
Ohta met eyes with Nathaniel. Ohta's approached the knight before he could react and help his hand on the knight's sword, keeping it within it's sheath. Ohta held a finger to his own mouth, as if to warn Nathaniel to keep quiet.
'Brother?... Than that means...' The truth finally sunk in and Bianca's eyes grew wide at the realization. This was the real thing, and the men in the room with her were none other than the legendary sages and the Light Devouring Beast himself. More and more of the helmet he wore broke off as the fighting continued, revealing more of a human face than she had even believed the beast to have. She began to feel dizzy with adrenaline, but kept her cool.
Nathaniel grit his teeth but reached for his blade anyway. "You will not enter the ruins today," he called in response to the threat. He stepped back, finding the best balance he could given the situation and pulled the man's hand from his blade, allowing him to draw it.
The grand mages were completely swamped with requests with the damage coming from what seemed like a disturbance in the ruins. Equally busy was one of the many apprentice mages, Yuuno Fairchild. He seemed to be haphazardly delivering books and ingredients to places that were needed all over the castle. From what he could piece together, the only thing that could cause such a disturbance was the light devouring god. After that, all that was left was keeping everything under control and hopefully keeping the terrible creature sealed. He was quiet, like usual, as he continued moving around.

Appearance: Ember is of an average height with shoulder length hair gone white prematurely, and her skin is nearly as fair as her hair. A scar runs below her left eye, a gift from a bear. She wears a bandanna over her face bearing a fearsome maw, mithral breastplate, gauntlet, and greaves stylized to resemble a gryphon, and a wears a snow white cloak completing the traditional garb of the Rangers.
Backstory: There are those who speak of Ragnarok in the past tense, and those that speak of it in the present tense, and some very few who speak of it in the future tense, and there is one who does not speak of it. Ember had only recently become a member of the Rangers when the Sages decided to cause their little war. Unfortunately for the rangers, it was their job to keep watch over the gates of Valhalla and ensure no one from either side attempted to make the crossing. When the Sages came, forced the gate open, and destroyed the Rangers, which took the combined efforts of the three sages and countless creatures from Valhalla a surprisingly long time given the relatively small number of Rangers, Ember was so young that the blind lore keeper took Ember and ventured into the lifeless tundra to seek a long abandoned retreat. Somehow the pair survived until 12 years ago the lore keeper left the teenage Ember to put an end to the war. She sacrificed herself and sealed the gate, or at the very least shrank the opening drastically. Ember remained in the unforgiving land for over a decade to complete her training by herself. A week ago Ember left the retreat, gathered the belongings the Keeper had left her, the armor, a shield, a blade, and a few other possessions and began hunting what creatures that had crossed over from Valhalla as the last of the Rangers.

"Aesir." Ember breathed out beneath her mask. She felt her soul tug towards something inside of the fort. A Valhallan. And a big one. She thought to herself as she stepped from the woods towards the fort's outer wall. The men on the wall were more concerned with what was going on within than they were with some strange person walking up to their solid fortifications. "Nok." She reared her left arm back and slammed her shield against the masonry before her and a tunnel formed through it, the blocks that had been there a moment before were turned to dust and sent flying away from her. It was not loud, nor violent and so drew little attention from those more interested in staring at where a battle was already taking place. Ember walked into the fort and started towards the abyss.
Men finally noticed the intruder and drew back their bowstrings. Ember gave them a glance and sighed, "Serah." But she did not slow. Arrows were loosed and whipped around Ember in circles before being thrown in random directions at high speed. "Archers, hold fire. Spearmen! Swordsmen! Surround the intruder." The man shouting orders looked to be little older than Ember herself, if at all and he stood directly in front of her. "Stand down now, and you can live." He stated pointing his blade at her. "Luca? Nok Luca." She waited a moment, saw him blink in confusion a couple of times and drew her own sword. "Nok." She said and all of the weapons leveled at her fell to the ground, yanking some of the men to the dirt who refused to let go of their weapons, including the young commander. Ember started to walk past the group when the commander let go of his weapon and tried to tackle her, he got a knee to the nose. And through the blood he sputtered, "Capsher hat ohmin!"
An older man shouted, "Hold! She is not an enemy." Ember sheathed her blade, nodded towards the man speaking on her behalf, "Nok." She stated and walked past the group. "What do you think you're doing? I had everything under control!" "Saving your life, and the lives of everybody else here. White hair and cloak, silver gryphic armor and weapons. That is a Ranger. And you were just in her way, what do you think she will do to what she's here to destroy." "And if it's the light devouring beast? What happens if she lets it loose?" "And what if that's why she's here? The quakes. Maybe it's trying to break out and she's here to stop it. Or you can try to stop her and get yourself and everybody else here killed." The argument continued on behind Ember as she heads for the cave entrance.
A younger boy seemingly Ember's polar opposite given his dark hair and clothes ran into her with an armful of things. While Ember stood like a rock, Yuuno fell to the ground scattering the books and ingredients he had been carrying. Ember picked up one of the books and offered it to the boy. "Nok?" Ember said, apparently as a question this time.
"I apologize." Yuuno's voice was loud enough for the woman to hear. "I need to get to Grand Mage Martin with these materials." He picked up the materials and made sure to look closer and make sure he wasn't being rude. "If you wish to know about the current situation, the throne room is currently having a meeting." He bowed his head to her. "As a ranger, I'm sure that you have a lot to offer to the situation." He started to move to the side, sure that Grand Mage Martin would probably be pissed off with him if he waited any longer to deliver the ingredients for his magic.

The servants to the gods ran around as they attempted to figure out what was going on. Even if the light devouring beast was coming out, they had no permission to awaken what was in this area. A few of them wished they could so they could see whatever was in there fight. Still, it lay asleep in the strange chamber with a scythe positioned to get anyone who touched it without permission.
Ember considered for a moment. It may not be my place to deal with this Grand Mage, but I've never faced such a powerful Aesir beast before. The help would be nice to have. Ember nodded, "Nok." And fell into step next to Yuuno. "Serah Ranger Darklight." She gestured to herself and then gestured towards him with her open hand. "Nok?"
