Re: Death Note dub
Omigosh, tonight's episode was mega smex X3
I've gotta say... L's english voice is SOOO GOOD! *squeal*
The "I am Justice" part at the end was nicely acted out. It PUMPED ME UP! The dub is so amazing thus far, I have no complaints at all. Sayu was perky and oblivious and the chief sounded chief-y. Or um... he sounded like a cop ^_^, And OMG L's voice FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I might get the dvd now... I'm really impressed with the voices =3 (especially L's!!!! And Light's too, but L POWAH!!!!!!)
Sorry for my seemingly pixie-stick sugar high induced rambling, but ohmigawd L HAS AN AWESOME VOICE! >=D

I havent seen the show in japanese and havent read the manga, but it seems very well coordinated. I havent heard the jap. VA but I think it would be hard to top the American in this case. Kinda like with fullmetal alchemist, they got the voices so right in american that the Japanese are watching it with the english dubbing on!
Every once in a while us lazy, fat, jerky american get something done right! But George Bush is making us look bad so screw him, he can eat venom.

I reccomend you read the manga. RIGHT NOW. Tsk tsk. Generalizations need to be put into the corner of shame then sprinkled with fishstick crumbs and sunshine dust till they revert to an unbiased, logical sentiment full of thought and care. v_vEvery once in a while us lazy, fat, jerky american get something done right! Re: Death Note dub
I'm really liking this too. The voices seem to right for those characters, because those are the kinda voices I tend to think of when it comes to those types of characters.
But I think Light kinda screwed up when he had all those criminals die of heart attacks. A couple may have been beleivable, but that many? I don't think so. If I was in his place I would have had a different cause of death for most of them. Like if they were in prison already then I'd have them die in a jail riot or shanked by their cell mate. If its someone who's free then I would have them comit suicide or get into an accident. And depending on what those criminals did then I would make their deaths fit their crimes. Like a rapist dying of an STD or a killer who tortured their victims die a slow and painfull death. Basically give them a taste of their own medicine. If Light had done things that way then the authorities probably wouldn't have caught on so quickly.

Re: Death Note dub
Not really, he made the right move for his situation. By increasing the quality of his kills he would decrease the quantity, which his whole reason is to get rid of as many criminals as he could. Also he wanted people to realize that someone was causing it, he knew that if criminals realized someone was out there passing judgement then they would be afraid to commit crimes and the world would become more peaceful. He also knows that if the police don't get the death note then they can't prove anything. Besides Light isn't a sadistic person, although perhaps a little unstable, and doesn't torture his victims.Haseo-Skaith wrote:But I think Light kinda screwed up when he had all those criminals die of heart attacks. Re: Death Note dub
True, but it would also defeat the whole purpose of killing the criminals. His goal was to deter anyone from doing anything bad. The easiest way to do so would be to make it clear that the criminals were being judged.Haseo-Skaith wrote:I'm really liking this too. Well, considering the Death Note doesn't even work on shinigamis, I doubt it would work on the Creator.Kyero Fox wrote:just for shits and giggles.. what would happen if you wrote "God" in the Death Note? X'D
You're talking about Atori, right? That would be way too weird for Light. I realize Light is twisted, but he's not nuts. I could definitely see a Mello voiced by Frierson though.Erranty wrote:I liked it alot, but if I had to pick a VA for the main character i would use Eddie Frierson, if you see the job he did on NOEIN you'll know why i pick him.
Re: Death Note dub
Well, personally I think he could do it quite well if he worked at it. But I guess its too late for that.
Well, you have to know his face. And I doubt God is his real name, its probably something more along the line of Bill Clinton lolKyero Fox wrote:just for shits and giggles.. what would happen if you wrote "God" in the Death Note? X'D

Not that it's even worth acknowledging Kyero's proposal a second time, I thought I'd remind everyone:
Most people who believe in God agree that He is not a human. The Death Note wrote:The human whose name is writting in this note shall die.
