You're going to have to be more specific.

So you're saying couples who have sex before marriage should be looked down upon? Also, if you think there were no sexual references and "curse words" in the media in decades past, you probably haven't seen enough to make that call. I wouldn't consider the Ed Sullivan show filming Elvis from the waist up because he shook his hips to be a very profound moral.

Well, then, no, I disagree. Everyone has their own sense of what's moral and what's not, though.

That's the same thing.

Uh...no, they're not.

So basically, you're saying it's bad.

akuta yes i am saying that intersourse before marriage is bad, sex is supposed to be a sacred act between a husband and a wife..... we've butchered it in a way
You started the argument. Regardless of what
you believe, a moral is a concept, not an indisputable truth. I suggest you don't make a thread like this if you're not prepared to offer any kind of solid argument and just keep contradicting yourself.

I just couldn't help but noticing the contradicting statement. Twice nontheless.
I don't agree that it's bad. I'd rather say it's an expression of love (unless it's done just 'cause).

It's always been around....it all depends on what you believe is right and wrong.
Personally, I don't care 1 way or another. I'm not saying everyone should go have sex, but if 2 people like each other that much, what's the problem?

The only reason why i could see sex before marriage wrong is if they didn't do protected sex and had a child it could cause problems for the unmarried parents or the child. (cowers in fear) don't hurt me T_T

Um....so I skimmed over this topic and well, I kinda understand what Balian is trying to say, but I agree with what alot of the other members responding are saying, also.
While it is true that in the last century, the sense of what is moral has changed, but I think that is due to change undergone by society as it has progressed throughout the years. As we progress, you begin to see a shift from old ways to new ways. I'm not saying that the old ways were best, but I'm not saying the new ways are totally right either. What I base my morality on is different than what my father finds his morality in, but both are still moral.
I think this is an argument more of the perspective we as a society have taken on morality and whether or not it is the right thing or the wrong thing.
I will agree that the world's become more hypocritical of itself, in that we have a society that secretly condones things and even encourage things that in the light of truth, they would never admit to...and with that I'm off!

No, not really. Personally, I am more concerned with how stupid people are getting. Everyday I tell myself "people can't possibly get stupider" and evryday, I read in the paper, see the news and realize how wrong I am. LOL

It's not just our society, either. All industrial societies have experienced a decline in traditional values. However, one's morals and values are that person's decision alone, and they will be different from someone else's. You can't force your own values on someone else. At the same time, you are by no means obligated to degrade yourself with the rest of society. If you disapprove of premarital sex, or any other act that you see as immoral, avoid taking part and preserve your values. But don't judge others lest you be judged.

First of all,....: Hallejuia!!! Someone gets it!!!
It's all screwed up I totally agree. It's like society is so much more regressed then like 100 years ago like you said. People think it's so cool to fail classes and have sex before marrige. WHY?!? Why is it that its "cool" now to do those things?!? Where do they see themselves in the futur?!? My dad thinks i'm wierd because I don't play sports or have friends or have a girlfriend because society has contaminated him and about 99.99% of everyone else. They need a huge reality check. Oh, the dating. It used to be if you cared about someone, loved them, ect. NOW: People go out because their "hot." Because they're trophies. Because it makes them look good.
Okay, the 13 year old is done lectureing. Stupid. I'm 13 and get it and even full grown adults don't see it. Wow,...

That's definitely one of the more humorous rants I've read in a while. You're 13, man.
13. Do you honestly think you're somehow more enlightened than 99.9% of the world?

I don't know, I think things could be a whole LOT worse, than how things are today. And I mean a WHOLE LOT worse.
Besides, according to every religion in the world, if you're not part of their religion, but another religion that isn't them, you're going to hell. So basically, no matter what denomination you join, you're boned in either direction. So really, what would be the point of religion then?
Really. What's it for? I mean, about all it does is give four hours of mental anguish at people's naivette and narrow-window understanding of the world, and I have to put up with it for the love of all that can be considered good within this world. Only to realize that I've officially have come to recognize that mankind, as it stands, is going on a clutsy, drunken, pony ride straight to the pit of tarterus, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
So yeah, ahhhhmmm, I'm with everyone else- things could be a lot worse, and I'm betting money it will.

yes i agree and here is my other ideas truly i coud talk about this till the cows come home and i just might. ok frst of all humanity has lost most if not all of it morals. humans are too obsesed with material items and of what other people think about them. they are greedy aand have not self control. i can safely say that i am not like this (and if i was i would shoot myself) people are jsut so stupied. the polititioins are all skrewed up and have no idea how to run a country.tthey make stupied decissiond on the smallest problems and split decission on all of the big and important problems (katrina). but over all i think that the values of humanity has gone so far downhill it just makes me want to throw-up. i see flaws in peoples logic and just wonder how the F&%K they can act like that. i mean has any one here just sat down at a mall or a park and just watched people? i ahve and i just want to get up and smack some of thoes people. like mothers and thier children having argument, couples having a sean over the most stupied things. i just wonerd if i am even a part of this species and how humans can act with such indignity and insanity. i just want to smak the world up-side the head and set it straight but i dont think that something like that would work people have just gon down so far i don think that they can ever dig themselves out of this hole that they have gotten them selves into

Meh, as much as it sometimes seems, not everyone in this country is a dumbass. Just because you see a couple people arguing doesn't mean they're a disgrace to humanity. People quarrel. Everyone gets into a disagreement. If I were to point my finger at a certain fault of the modern American, it'd fall somewhere between cell phones and consumerism.
EDIT - And not to sound rude, but is it really right for you to call people stupid when most of your post is a misspelled run-on sentence? Seems kinda harsh.

ah but it is not just a few people it is every one i know lets out it this way from every onr in my entire life that i met about 2 are not the dumbasses that most people are and i have been watching people for many many many years and have had no other expierences than seeing them act stupiedly and if you read all of my post you would see that people have also lost their sence of honor and self dignity
