Help Magus

I was fighting magus and i got him down to protect break and i data drained him but, after that he did a spell and one hit killed me and blackrose. All that was left was mistral and i hit first aid but she kept repthing herself when i knew she had ressurects.... then it was game over. What should I do to to stay alive and does magus always one hit kill you after you protect break him?

ok nevermind... I went and bought alot of stuff and gave blackrose and mistral better armor and i beat magus.
