Well I bought Infection about a year and a half ago. It has been sitting in my dvd rack as I was away studying abroad. I am reluctant to start after reading up on the novels as I am afraid I will not get the full story. I have only seen a few episodes scattered of //SIGN which is what caught my attention in the first place.

Anyways I am finally ready to take the plunge into the dothack world. This anime/game series intrigued me from the start as I have always been a fan of MMORPGS and this is the most unique twist on who the story is told through that I have seen. Glad to find this site and others who love this game.

SIGN is a sort of prologue to the games. It doesn't really matter if you've watched it or not before you start playing. A few characters from SIGN make appearances in the later games, but even if you never watch it, you won't miss anything plot-critical.

The novels were all written well after the games were released. Don't worry if you haven't read them.

BUT it will help to get the other three games.
