I like all kinds of music even old classic and Jazz. Though I have to agree with you Haseo, jazz does seem to being dieing.

Haseo:terrorofdeath wrote:Jazz is due for a comeback. It needs it. It is a great type of music that a lot of today's culture has abandoned in favor of gangster rap. That is part of the reason that I hate rap. The other part would be that it spawns some of the most irritating ringtones. Anyways, back to jazz, it is too bad that we lost the great Ray Charles. I went on a rampage downloading his music. I am interested in more good artists.
I know what you mean, Ray was great. I wouldn't say that I hate rap but I just don't like to listen to it.

I can't really be qualified as a "fan," but I'm usually given the solos in jazz pieces we do in choir. I really like the pieces, and we've got some pretty cool jazz songs this year. The ones I can remember are... "It Had to be You," "Wade in the Water" (jazz mix), and "Follow the Drinking Gourd" (again, another jazz mix). Not many, I guess, but I'm getting into it.

saxamaphone.
ah Homer, what a way with words he has.
I personally like Jazz a lot, especially Saxophone pieces (I play it as well)
One of the reasons why I love Cowboy Bebop is because of its music :D
I to have noticed that not many people today listen to Jazz in comparison to rapp, because when I talk about trying to get it played at the next school dance....the basically say "ewww". So I'm basically fighting a losing battle in that situation.

I listen to Jazz every now and then. Heck, I'm thinking of trying out for my school's jazz band. Though everyone on it are the top players.

i think the jazz that speaks from the soul and is about hard ships is the best kind

It depends on what you play if your really willing to try. I was accepted right away for the baritone sax because our old drum major left. I was put to play it since I already play Bass Clarinet and the transition isn't that hard :)

One of my favorite jazz artist would have to be Billie Holiday. Her music is always good to listen to when your having a bad day or going on a date.

Haseo:Terrorofdeath got banned? Bummer. . .
