The boss that is in a glitched level 3 area.
I think the keyword is expansive haunted sea of sand?
I trained kite up to level 4 then took on the data bug.
After I took a couple of thousand hit points of him and tryed to see if data drain worked yet, which it didn't.
So it killed me -_-
How do I defeat it?

Its like a rock gaint with hammer-like hands and glows green.

oh yeah.. just kill him, i dont remember what lv i was but it was pretty easy, make sure you got potions if you need em

Make sure you got to your first leveling place and level up then, it isn't that hard.

Yeah, in the .dot hack world, leveling early on is the key. I waited til i got mia and elk in a party, then it was me, blackrose, and Mia leveling up til i hit about 28.

huh? i think he is talking about mutation..not infection..i dunno, but what type of element is it?? always have a magic spell that was a elemental hit to it. thats also a great key of beating a monster.

If you have any trouble, you should probably level up a lot, and if you have a party (in case it's one of those "come alone" ones) have someone heal and two attack, for safe travel, and bring some resurects. If you die, issue the first aid command. and when you start, set the healer's status, or whatever, to first aid. Just go to commands and click their name and issue it. Oh, and you have to attack him untill the protect break sign appears.

Im playing .hack//infectoin and im now at level 6 with all my armor over level 20 and i have level 6 shadow blades.
will that do?
also I don't have any other characters to put in my party yet.

... yeah, get others, that usually help, have one just heal for you if you can

How do I ask others to join my party?
or does it go along with the storyline?
I only have rena with me right now.

blackrose, not rena... anyway you havent found anyone else? you come across more people as you go along and then you can invite them, try looking at the message boards, thats usually were you can find info on the other characters you can get or where they are at.

its okay, as long as you see the mistake =P, and you can tell when you are able to data drain it, kinnda looks like a barrior brakes off of it, good luck!

hes talking about the rock head in the first game.... just get to 3 levels higher than it is and youll be fine.

he said rock giant with hammer like hands and glows green, thats the rock head boss. he looks like 1 large stone with 2 small stones for hands/arms. i know what hes talking about its not the snake

Actually you're both mistaken, he's talking about the Headhunter Data Bug. Rock Head is in Piros' dungeon, and doesn't even glow green (unless you're thinking of Rig Saem).

But anyway, Expansive Haunted Sea of Sand is what was said, and that's the Headhunter.

To beat him, just hack away at him and don't die, DD when it protect breaks, and kill it like you normally would (unless you want a Fire Spear or a Ceramic Anklet, but you'll be seeing a lot of Headhunters soon.

NoNoNoNoNo The first boss in expansive haunted sea of sand is definetly a Head Hunter! you get Mistral after this fight. as for fighting him, stay behind him. let Black rose attack the front. the Boss in the fortwalls place is Red wyrm. take lots of water scrolls. Don't waste your time on spells unless you really need to.
