I agree with you on some points, for example in the OXM review of curse of darkness they complained about graphics and that
the main character is not a belmont
completely forgetting the fact that this been done before, and spawned one of the greatest bada$$es in the series: Adrian Fairenhiets Tepes, A.K.A Alucard. (i'm referring to symphony of the night)

also, there's Soma Cruz, Dracula's Reincarnation (Aria of sorrow) and he was pretty cool as well.

That is why you should listen to Gamespot. They're usually more...reasonable. *Nods*

When big rating organizations rate games, they rate it in comparison to the games of that genre and console.

Keyword: comparison

They don't completely rate on the fun factor. So, yes, a low rated game can be loads of fun.

It is not a matter of being fair, it is just a matter of opinion.

ive got GI and they gave Resident Evil 4 a 10!! a ten. i played it and i give it a nine tops

but yeah sometimes they can be really cruel.

though when they gave ghost in the shell for the psp a 5.5, wel i think they were too kind.

completely unplayable.

i mean i love the ghost in the shell anime but that game was (bad word).
one of the worst games i ever played.

Game reviewers have opinions, such as the PSM magazine.

I've found that the most fair magazine is OPM. They rate games fairly, and they always speak thier oppinion.

I will admit, some reviews I haven't agreed with by OPM, but most of the time they hit it dead on.

It is their opinion on how they like the game. I've found some games pretty fun that I like, but GI gave it a bad rating. I don't really, just as long as the game makes me happy. :D

I mainly use their comments about the game to judge whether or not I want to play it, not their actually score.

its is all just based on opinoin if i like a game someone else might not. so it all depends on what games you like

Also dont forget they are trying to review for all tastes. i like .hack rpgs bc im a fan of .hack. But if someone who doesnt know what it is will probably not like it. Hence its 3 out of 5 from G4. And yes most of the time they base it on their preferences. DDR anyone doesnt do well sometimes but i like oll of them.

game informer is good, except when it comes to anime type games, they tend to get a tad... dunno how to say it, but mean is a good word. also, if you get G4 you should watch x-play, they give good reveiws as well.

Yes they do but they kinda hate anime games. But truth alot of anime games are linear. But to say the least can anyone give a perfect reivew? No. Why? because we are human and we cant please everyone at once.

when reviewing, we have to let the "fan" aspect of us go away. but I will admit that they[X-play] seem to review unfairly. besides that, their rating scale (in my opinion) doesn't work out.
