clans/tarot(?)

Post by Kaito Fujiwara »

I noticed the three clans mentioned on the main site, and the had the names some of the major arcana in tarot (the Sun, The judgement, the Fool) do you suppose that there are smaller clans who have names for some of the other cards?

That is a good point...

Tarot has had a certain level of significance in the past .Hack games, several scrolls were named after Tarots.

The Death
The Moon
The Devil
The Fool
The Hanged Man
The Lovers

I'm not sure that there will be smaller groups as this seems to be an in-game idea.

What intrigues me is the political idea, as this involves the 'Grow Up' theme. In particular, the Liberal Arvak and the Conservative Ogmios. These are pretty much the names of two major British political parties; the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives.

As you play the part of someone else, they'll probably choose which clan you are a part of for you.

We know there will be other 'clans', the Guilds in this game serve well enough as clans. So far, we know of three Guilds, Kestral, Moon-Tree, and Twilight Brigade.

Moon-tree and Kestrel are lesser guilds that are gaining power (and there are in theory others that are more minor), but as far as I know they don't have Tarot associated with them, at least yet. And those three are the undisputed major powers, I believe. Twilight Brigade gets disbanded early on, right? Still, I doubt Haseo joins any of the major groups for any long amount of time, because he doesn't need to... He doesn't like the Kestrel (as we've seen), they have a screenshot of him not caring what Sakaki has to say (and Sakaki is one of the leaders, like second in command, of Moon-tree I believe), and if he was in the others he'd be caught up in their war (either fighting or supplying), I'd think...

Yeah, the Arvak are more technological and fond of change, and the Ogmios like the old ways of doing things. Something like that.
