I own it. Even though it barely has a plot. The game is really fun. I enjoyed the mini-games and missions. Many people don't like this game, but I think it's really good.
I don't really see the game as a sequel to FFX, because of how different the story-lines are.
This game is no comparison to FF titles such as VII,VIII, and X but if your looking for a fun game to play whwn your bored...then this ones for you. It's kind of like Mario Party games, plot-less but fun.
I think this game was a bit overrated by Game Critics because of the high quality graphics.
I would give this game a 6.9/10
(MY opinion)

I own the game and still haven't beaten it. However, I think it is a good game except for a few flaws.
-No plot, or little plot that goes back to X
-Job system is really testy
-Full compeletion seems impossible, even with the strategy guide.

Eh, I own the game but never beat it. It's fun but quite plotless...and the whole dress sphere thing, never could get used to that. I guess like Dante said it's a fun game but really doesn't compare to some others.

Unnecessary, extremely mediocre (borderline bad) sequel, and it also marked the beginning of a slew of shitty SquareEnix games and pointless, profitable Final Fantasy spin-offs. They've continually gone downhill since then.

You won't see me buying anymore FF games, especially now since Nobuo Uematsu is gone. The music in FFX-2 is crap.
This game is fun, but that's it. I swear to God if Square Enix makes a crappy FFVII remake, I'll kill myself.

Well, he's not really "gone." He's just a freelance composer now, meaning he's no longer bound to SquareEnix. They can hire him for a project whenever, granted he accepts it. He and SquareEnix did mention they'll probably be working together in the future.
Right now, though, he seems to have followed Sakaguchi (the father of Final Fantasy) over to Mistwalker, where he's working with him on Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. I'm sure we'll see Uematsu in future Final Fantasies, however.

Hey, Helbaworshipper, don't rely on any official guide to get you to 100%. They're all full of errors. Go on gamefaqs (that's what I did) and it works. Keep in mind getting 100% is very cumbersome.

People said things along those lines when Final Fantasy VIII came out, and then again after Final Fantasy X was released. I would completely disagree if it were not for all of these stupid Final Fantasy VII spin-offs Squenix is making.
Anyway. My opinion of the game? It was pretty good if you
a) didn't have high expectations and
b) weren't expecting a story that was on par with X's.
The game has good graphics, Yuna's VA did a much better job this time around (I actually liked her voice!), and the battle system is really, really fun. They can use that battle system again in any game they make and they won't hear complaints from me (not to say there aren't things I wouldn't change. It was good, though).

the bosses are nothing compared to the ones on ffx because the ffx-2 bosses are as hard as peeling a bananna

Well, you could make the case that there were those who hated each Final Fantasy after VI, not just VIII and X. I mean, since each is so dramatically different, there will always be those who dislike them. The thing with X-2 is it's a direct sequel, not a sequel like, for example, VIII is to VII, or X is to IX. It was just an unnecessary project that was easy cash for an already extremely wealthy SquareEnix. I would have rather had SquareEnix focusing on, say, a Valkyrie Profile or Vagrant Story sequel instead of a recycled, innuendo-filled, half-assed RPG that gave them a quick buck.
The game has good graphics...
Well, it
is the same exact engine as FFX, recycling most of the areas and adding new objects here and there, so of course the graphics are fine.
Yuna's VA did a much better job this time around (I actually liked her voice!)
Yeah, it was okay when she wasn't echoing some girl power, TNA phrase or having a lesbian free-for-all in a hot spring with the rest of Charlie's Angels.
The gameplay was decent; I'll give the game that. It's probably the only meritable aspect of X-2, if just for the awesome costume designs.

i have heard that they are remaking ff7. they made the movie advent children (which btw wa amazing beyond anything i ever had seen) but they are remaking ff7 which i think would be good. better tech in it. but if they change the story line that would be gay. and i would also not kill myself but others that made the game.

Yes. This is true. The footage of a re-made FF-7 was nothing more than a tech demo to show off the PS3's graphic capabilities. Square-Enix designers have said that they would like to make an FF-7 remake someday, but they have no plans to do so anytime soon.

It's a technical demo and nothing more. Nomura has expressed interest in possibly remaking the title; but if it were to happen, we wouldn't see it for ages. Don't listen to the rumors that it is, in fact, currently being remade.

The game lacks some of the basic roleplaying plot. It overuses the plot in an obvious way.
