You are mistaken. Shugo and Rena were once neighbors of Kazu and BlackRose. They are not related.

But even if she did call him Uncle it would probably be like a friendly thing. Like a mentor, but not her brother... doesn't mean they're related.

Besides, Kaz is the twin of BlackRose, a highschool student... it's not like a brother or sister of his had a child that was Rena or Shugo. :B

Actually, he isn't her twin; he's about three years younger. However, you've got the right idea. They only have one other sibling, and he's much younger.

wait.... Uncle Kazu, i thought that was mentioned in the TV Show too... i could be wrong, but.......
i think it was around the event Balmung was in charge of...with the trees and what not.....though i could be wrong

I've never heard of anything close to that at all, I think you are just seeing things. Maybe you can clear up why they just say Kazu when they see him then? I don't think there is any way they could be related like nephew and neice.

If you're the one with the Chinese version it could just be a translation error... there are plenty of mistakes in these books. X3

Maybe 'aunt' or 'uncle' is something the culture uses today to represent someone close to you. Maybe Japan, the U.S.A., Canada, or where ever don't, but translations are changed to fit the culture of that time...

In reality, it's neither. It seems to be a translation error in the Spanish version.

In the book Shugo and Rena mention Kazu. It seems Rena and Shugo knew Kazu and Blackrose when they were both in Elementary School.
