Dunno if this has ever been brought up before on these Forums at least...
But have any of you found it weird that when you do some Gate Hacking, it says "Gate Hacking v2.0" and well, im sure we can all count... before "2" is "1" and then "0" with all the decimal places in-between...

You're right. I figure the 2.0 is used because it's a version of Gate Hacking intended for normal (to a point) players, as opposed to Phases, Data Bugs, Tsukasa, and so forth.

Who knows what Cyber Connect was up to with that... Maybe in the demo it was 1.0 (not sure)... maybe someone can clarify

It's possible that there was an earlier version (1.0) which allowed System Administers gate hack and access protected areas for matinence.
Then as "The World" was upgraded, the System Admins were able to simply warp anywhere they pleased, and Gate Hacking 2.0 could of been created by a hacker, or perhaps a CC Corp. employee, which was discarded once System Admins were able to warp freely.

I highly doubt it. Even now in present games, Administrators can warp anywhere they want with a simple line of code. Although it's a theory worth entertaining, it's baseless and redundant.
This Gate Hacking 1.0 could've been what Tsukasa and the AI's used, and Aura updated it so that a player can interact with it without using psychic powers or uber programming skills.
