No, it's Helba.

No, it's not. The hair color and style is all wrong, along with the lipstick color and the skin complexion. I think it's just some random dancing chick made for fanservice.

Nooo, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be Helba. You always say that sort of thing, such as Michi from the LOTT anime not being in the back of the 3rd manga because of a slight difference... they took away Kite and Blackrose's designs for their pants and it's still the same character. Tsukasa's hat look different in the anime compared to the world's version. Little things like that happen, it doesn't mean it's not the same character.

No, it's NOT Helba. That's ridiculous. Helba doesn't wear the headset or wear a red nano-suit. Another theory I saw suggests that the first part of the introduction is supposed to be like a commercial for the World or something.

No one in the series wears that, of course, but they can put different clothes on for different characters. Obviously they wanted it to be somewhat vague, as they do with most things in the series.
If it was a 'commercial' I don't know why they'd have the other Sign characters... and even if you include them the girl (Helba) finds Aura in the end, so I doubt they'd have something such as that in a commercial.

The girl is Helba In .hack//Gift when they show all the characters in the intro they change them into there gift form and the Girl in red turned into Helba. And the hair is about the same. And its just a suit its not like its part of the story. and if your about to say "Ok so just because she turned into helba then she is helba, Thats stupid your an ideiot." They never turned any of the other characters into something else in the opening.

I always guessed it was Helba or for some odd reason maybe Emma, which I doubt now. But everyone makes a good point, we can never be really sure about who she is. I also do doubt that commercial thing because Aura was in it...and I'm not exactly sure what a dancing lady has to do exactly with The World though commercials these days don't do much with what they're actually advertising. I haven't seen Gift but Laysh's theory on how the character turns into their Gift form sounds solid so I'm keeping with Helba for now. Though like AuraTwilight said it could be a random dancin' chick...

I said the FIRST part of the introduction. Before it started showing SIGN characters. Way to read. But yea, anime has been known to put fanservice like this before. Those biosuits the children need to wear to operate Evas in Evangelion? Pure fanservice.

Making a full video when only half of it is really supposed to be a commercial that's appropriate? I don't think it would just randomly go through something official to something in the anime.
And you should try being nicer to people on here, it's not very fun with you always telling people how wrong they are and criticizing them. No one knows Dot Hack completely, so getting upset about it is ridiculous.
Laysh's makes the most sense to me, so I'll keep to that too.

I would be nice if everyone took the courtesy to atleast read my posts fully instead of just looking at the interesting parts. And .hack//GIFT is not canon. It's pure comedy, and I believe there's an interview somewhere where it's mentioned that the Red Girl turning into Helba thing was a parody done of people's theories. I dunno. But seriously, next you'll be telling me that Tsukasa has boobs in the game.

She's certainly not any of SIGN's three female leads. After confirming it wasn't BT, I assumed the girl was Helba.

Exactly, Wolfe. She's a literal nobody.

How is two people not having tops proof of anything? By that logic, Mimiru and Blackrose, Tsukasa and Elk, and Bear and Orca are the same people too.

I think it's The helba... but she's not in PC, but in real form (SEE IS A HACKER SHE COULD DO THAT)

She can hack her RL appearance? Peh. Anyway, Helba doesn't strike me as a dancer, so...
