can someone clear this up

Was wondering whats the difference between G.U. and fragment. When I went to .hacks website I found a clip about G.U ever since now I only knew they were coming out with fragement.

GU is the sequel to the current .hack series, a set of games set seven years after the original games, three years after Legend of the Twilight Bracelet.
Fragment is a game with an online component, apparently designed to keep the fans who were clamoring for an online .hack game content for a while. As best I can tell, it will not fit into series continuity.

shinsou wotan os corect fragment and G.U. are complitely diferent.fragment is a comlete story by it self and G.U. is the new hack series

what EXACTLY is G.U. for those of you who dont know im new to reading .hack and havn't seen any of the anime or movies ((except for 1 of the dvds that came with the game)) is it in the anime? in the magna? in the games? or what .. i hear so much talk about it but i dont know what it is...

.Hack// is basically a game about a online Role Playing Game (RPG) that is very popular around the world after being translated into ten or more languages. What makes the game unique is that it a fantasy/action. Also what makes this anime good is that the story is based of a lot of things the Far east.
G.U takes place after the four games. 1017, I think. Instead of like the way "The World" was peaceful but a little chaotic from a program that went hay wierd. The world is more like run by guilds.

COOL! Just found out I got a gift certificate to Books A Million so ill get a book so I wont have to rush read and bug you guys about my questions..

two of the characters that are going to help you out in .hack are two people that you pk. does haseo have amnesia or something not to remember that he player killed them. and will they betray you somewhere in the 2 or 3 game.
if this has been asked or already answered can you link me to where it's at. i'm late for work.
