Okay, my friend has a very strange problem with his Quarantine game. He is at the part where you go through the ten-level dungeon and then fight Cubia. Now, he will get to the last level of the dungeon, and go into the room with purple haze around it, signifying a boss fight. But inside the room, nothing happens. It's full of purple-ish roots that you walk on. The roots look kind of like Cubia's, but he is no where to be found. The entrance disappears, and my friend is stuck. He's walked back and forth across the weird room, but there's nothing. Does anyone here have any idea what the problem is???
Sorry if my explanation was confusing...It's a confusing problem.

Before. Which is odd, because isn't the fight with Cubia supposed to be after the cutscene?

yes it is very strange sorry I dont know what to do,wait your friend goes up and down the map and nothing hapens right? what about waiting at the end of the path it should have a fight regardless, maybe the cinema was deleted for that disc and it did not mess up the fight,if your friend still can not fight it my advise is to get a new copy of the game but keep the one your friend has because it could turn out like a level zero type thing that makes it ten times as rare as a normal copy, I have one of those for Lufia 2 and it is quite rare,so I hope my advise helps, sorry if it does not

Yes, that's probably what he should do. It's a real weird problem, isn't it? And he didn't buy a used copy, or anything...it was brand new.

That's really weird. It's happened to me before on a few games. All I did was put a CD cover on the bottem to cover up any scratches, and it worked fine. Then, when I rented Till the End of Time from the video place down the street, the game wouldn't start because the bottom was really scratched up. I think maybe it's just scratched up. Get your friend to bring it in for repair, and if it still doesn't work, then he should bring it back and get a new copy.
