What was that scene near the end of Liminality where Aura appears in the sky all about? I remember there was the sound of a modem dial up in the background. Was it supposed be just symbolic? Also why green?

The general consensus is it was either symbolic, or this was the second time (after Lara) that something actually crossed over.

I'm guessing the dial up tone was used because that's what there was back then. I don't really remember, but 2002 - 2003 was around the time that high speed internet was becoming a reality.
