So has anyone gotten it yet? Opinions?
I've started playing, and I think it's pretty sweet. Spazzed a bit when two certain characters showed up.

I was going to but then found the demos a little too plain. Can you increase each characters stats?? I just thought it seemed like, get through the level to just do another the same ^^ let me know what you think so far

The characters do level up and increase stats and gain new abilities. This ranges from new attacks to new out-of-combat abilities such as healing and support.
Another aspect you probably didn't see in the demo is that each unit in the game has two characters from the same game, but then a third floating character can be added to the team. These third characters can be matched up with any unit of any game. So you can have Kite and Blackrose fighting alongside some guy from Street Fighter if you feel such a need.
But yeah. I like it a lot. The story is shakey, but hey. It's a giant crossover. If you wanted a solid storyline, you should have known better.

I love owning it, and playing it from time to time. But the initial charm wore off around lvl 12. After that every mission is the same and in story dialogue from the characters I like are really generic. Still awesome to own a strategy game with Kite/Black and a million other cool characters. Novelty game. Though seeing Blackrose act all Tsundere around Kite again makes me really happy.

For the most part, the game doesn't have too many ways to spice up gameplay, and chapters around the 30s can take extremely long to complete.

Story-wise, this game isn't as solidly strong as the titles represented in them, but yeah, it is a crossover game. It's basically pure fanservice. Which I'm okay with.

I bought 2 copies of this game because of .hack// being in this game. One to play, one for keeping sealed.

I do still love it very much. Have sort of a habit of data draining every boss I possibly can.

I got totally hooked on the game so much that I beat it twice already! No short sessions for me, I just kept going right at it! Had ta kinda "hide" it from myself so I dun get tempted to go back for a third round so soon. Ya don't play this game for the story, you do for the character interactions, fanservice, and flashy attacks (not just supers!)! That they dropped the multi-chapter Skeith Zero subplot with zero resolution pretty much says why ya shouldn't be playing for the story (it'd be giving them to much credit to say they did this as a nod to how .hack//Zero was originally unfinished). I did kinda feel bad for the regular monster baddies. In their own universes some of 'em required special powers/equipment/etc. to defeat. Here? Any ol' good guy & anti-hero can smack 'em around no problem lol.
