Don't know if anyone else here plays the Z.O.E. series, but I really do hope that Kojima goes back to them. I have yet to play a faster paced mecha game and was expecting great things for 3...

The designs for 3 was too weird for me anyway, besides, where does the series have to go after 2?

From what I heard, player's were going to control Anubis, and it was going to be a bit of alternate reality to the others games, or a filler game for in between. In my opinion, there was a lot of positional, as the universe was pretty open for just about anything because it was never fully develop like MGS or any of Kojima's other main series (It was just a side project to keep his team from getting bored with working on MGS).

Sad they disbanded the team and cancelled the project. Maybe a complete reboot is in order in a couple of years.

Hmmm... I have a feeling it has to do with the strain of the upcoming MGS games, since they are making two games simultaneously for multiple systems, and hopefully even upgraded graphics for next gen.

Kojima stated it was due to hardware issues but if I know anything about being in the creative industry he was probably either having issues with the plot or being worried by how much it would sell.
His last question to the fans of the series seems to suggest at least that much.

Yeah, I mean from what I've heard he said it was also in part due to the sales of the HD collection, but most fans of the series already have them for the PS2. The only reason i got the HD collection was for the artbook honestly.
I also remember hearing about the HD Collection being released for the Vita, which is why some of my friends never bought it for the PS3, they wanted it for the Vita instead, but I highly doubt that is happening now either.

It sucks that we won't be getting a new game in the series. But still, rather that than them releasing a crappy entry.

I didn't want to bump my original thread since it's kinda old.

No details for the rest of the world yet, but they've announced today that the "The Best" version of ZoE HD Edition for PS3 will hit stores on July 25 2013. This is the same date the PS3 patch will go live, with "various performance improvements". The price for the retail re-release is 2480yen. The download version will be discounted to 1980yen on PSN, and for those who only want ZoE or ZoE2, the individual games can be purchased for 1000yen each.

Hmmm... I wonder what makes it the "best." It seems very uncommon to have a re-re-release.
