I ordered and recieved Versus about a month ago from play-asia. No I can't read 98% of the texts but I gather understanding here and there. One thing I have no clue about is how the people I play against online have the collectable weapons and I am stuck with the four original ones. I don't hate those four but it would be cool if someone could let me know how. Thanks(:

You have to watch the playback videos of your singleplayer matches, the tutorial shows you how.

I had the same problem. I didn't really pay attention to the tutorial because I thought it was just teaching how to watch replays. After beating the game with no items, only then did I find out about them. D'oh!
