Seems like America hates freedom now.

I been away for a bit but I know CISPA was passed. I wonder when it takes effect and of course Obama lied about vetoing it just like NDAA.

It only passed the House of Reps. It still has to get through the Senate then the White House.

It this pass everyone is going to go back to living like they did in the 90s with today's technology. Privacy would still be here but in different ways. SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, CISPA, and anything else they come up with sucks.

The 90's were pretty good though. Good clothes, good people, cheap gas, and the video games were more fun. People used to actually hang out instead of texting or talking to each other online.

Me too. Though I was in preschool during that time...

Born in 93 I'm glad I got to live in the 90s. I must admit during those days I went outside everyday and had a blast as a kid. Now these days most things are dying to me in some form or another. The Internet culture and community isn't what it use to be. Even without SOPA variations they're censoring free speech on the Internet. They're trying to make everything come from one big corporation source.

I was a 89' kid. Got to experience a lot, and just like you said, I went outside with my friends more, and had a lot more fun. Now, schools are reducing Gym classes to 2 hours a week, and trying to eliminate Recess. That's gonna reduce these kids coordination too much, and kill their teamwork building abilities.

While I do agree that things need to go back to that, it also means that the internet needs to be like it was in the 90's again. Morpheus was the Peer to Peer "torrent" program back then, but people had to actually give you the torrent, it wasn't simply hosted for everyone to see. This sucked because most people were on 56k lines till 1998...

Internet Censorship isn't going to fix anything. Its not a remedy for something either, because the companies lobbying for it are still making record profits off of low quality crap anyway. Yes I do believe the internet needs security, and that companies should be allowed to sue EACH OTHER over copyright infringement, or have links taken down that lead to their product. That doesn't mean the entire things should be closed down and you can't really accomplish that anyway.

I dunno. I just don't think that people who don't know all the implications of something should be voting on it if it'll affect the lives of millions of people.

Its got nothing to do with the illuminati, its just Lobbying. I think Lobbying should be considered treason since these people are making laws for the whole nation when all they're supposed to do is PROTECT THE PEOPLE, now they're just looking out for their financial backers' interests.

It doesn't really matter if people believe in it or not. Sooner or later the US government likely will censor the Internet and its going to suck. The Internet was epic in its prime but when censorship comes its going to be epic fail.

Yep! If they think non Internet privacy is bad now its going to be far worse they censor the Internet. I'm pretty no matter were you go as far as social class is concern there is always that local bootleg guy selling movies and music on every corner.
