FMA Brotherhood help

I am currently trying to watch brotherhood start to finish. But I have a ? to anyone who knows. I am at the time when the one eye super army has awakened. I have noticed some scenes seem computer cgi is this true. Or is it just me.

Yes it's CGI. How hard do you think it would be to have a giant intertwining mass of bodies move in the background of well drawn, detailed fighting? Its a lot easier to just transpose them while setting layers up so they're always in the background of the fighting.
