Europe, in the winter of 1198…
Still licking their wounds from the losses of the Third Crusade led by Richard, the Lionheart King, Pope Innocent III succeeds the Papacy. His first order of business is to sound the call for another invasion of Jerusalem.
The rumblings of a coming holy war spread, and those who would seek honor, glory, or darker things answer that call
The Fourth Crusade (1202–1204) was originally intended to conquer Muslim-controlled Jerusalem by means of an invasion through Egypt. Instead, in April 1204, the Crusaders of Western Europe invaded and conquered the Christian city of Constantinople, capital of the Eastern Roman Empire essentially killing their own people. They never reached Jerusalem.

Bio: He just joined the templar order, with high hopes of reclaiming their lost heritage. However, due to an incident within the beggining, he and a few other templars were sent on an opposite job to flank the enemy. However, they were never to join the actual force
